Work Text:
Through the air, we
spin, we
dance, we
weave, we
sing.
Sing the songs of the
future, the
past, the
known, the
forgotten.
The world lights up, shining colours of
hope, of
truth, of
life, of
belief.
A smiles falls upon your lips,
the world forgotten.
It's just you and me,
me and you.
The truth we know,
that others don't,
insignificant in the light of
now.
And if they don't listen to us,
our dances,
our songs,
our lights,
we don't care.
We shot our shot,
an attempt was made,
we did what we could.
And I tell you,
"I think that's enough."
The smile on your lips is teasing,
ever-present,
"It's never enough."
You keep on fighting,
I'm right by your side.
We fend off the
darkness
with our songs and dances of light,
but no light is bright enough.
But I don't lose hope,
because you haven't lost yours.
The light is yours,
just as the darkness isn't.
And like a moth
to an open flame,
I will burn
alongside the
darkness, the
people, the
world, the
universe.
I smile back at you.
I don't tell you that this has to be enough.
You never stop.
I burn.
