Down Under but Up Above

Summary:

Zoro has been skeptical of Miss All Sunday ever since she joined their crew while they were leaving Alabasta. He observes her and usually gets annoyed by the things she does, suddenly wow he starts feeling things he hasn't felt in a long long time since Kuina died. After slow burn from both POVs, one day up in the lookout room above the mast, feelings were confessed, a little angst takes place and then AHAHAHA just read dude

Notes:

The first chapter is literally just the episode where she 'joined' the crew after alabasta which is just the introduction, the real thing starts from around mid-chapter 2. I would say do read chapter 1 to get used to my writing style so yeah.

Chapter Text

The woman who was our enemy until 2 hours ago is now standing on our ship, asking our captain - Monkey D. Luffy if she could join the crew. Miss All Sunday, introduces herself as Nico Robin and speaks out the words in a smooth manner as we - the crew stand in a straight line ready to attack. “Let me... Join your crew.” Everyone’s mouths fall wide open and they scream “WHAT?”
I stand at the end still holding onto my sword as I stare at this woman. She notices my stances and uses her Hana Hana No Mi and spawns her arm on my waist, smoothing her long fingers over the hilt of my sword motioning me that she means no harm. I’m still tense as I look at my captain for orders. Luffy looks at me as he nods slowly. I stand up now less stiff because I trust my captain.
She pulls out a chair and sits on it gracefully. “Monkey D. Luffy. You haven’t forgotten what you did to me, have you?” obviously, Sanji holds Luffy by the collar because he is just soooo gentlemanly and asks him “Luffy! What did you do to this beautiful woman here???”. Usopp is on the ground with a megaphone that… where did he even get that from? He’s asking Robin to leave the ship immediately as she hasn’t given us a reason for asking to join the crew yet.
Luffy calls out the Miss All Sunday by saying “Hey, don’t lie. I didn’t do anything to you! You don’t really make any sense, what do you want me to do?” She continues “As I already mentioned, let me join your crew.”
“Okay.”
That’s all we hear and the next second everyone is yelling at Luffy asking him if he’s lost his freaking marbles. Miss All Sunday spawns her spare hands on Luffy and Chopper’s stomachs and starts tickling the both of them, they both fall to the ground laughing. Suddenly, Nami kicks the floorboard of the ship and sternly says that she will never be swayed by this mysterious woman’s actions. Usopp and I nod and agree. Miss All Sunday fishes out a medium-sized bag that’s larger than her hand and places it on the table in front of her. “Well, I did bring along Crocodile’s treasure with me just in case.” she sighs. In the blink of an eye, faster than light, Nami is behind Miss All Sunday, hugging her affectionately with hearts in her eyes. Hearts? Or are those berry symbols? “Aw, I love you big sister! You are absolutely the best!!”. Usopp and I nod our heads in disapproval “Too fast, Too fast.” While Nami is admiring the treasure she received from the mysterious woman, Our cook floats down the stairs from the kitchen and spews out a love poem that we find all too cringeworthy to understand. Sanji quickly places tea and snacks out on the table, and bows and kisses the woman’s hands. Usopp shakes his head next to me “We should’ve expected and known this from the start.” I scoff and nod “You’re right. But now it’s just the two of us who need to hold down our ground, Usopp!” Usopp looks straight ahead towards the sea and breathes out “Our crew is being too acceptable, or should I say ‘lax’ in this situation? It’s…” But before he can finish his sentence, Luffy calls out to him. Usopp turns around with an annoyed expression but the second he sees Luffy making a face that looks like Chopper’s with Miss All Sunday’s hands over his head, shaped like antlers, and calls out Chopper’s name, Usopp falls to the ground with the 2 idiots and starts laughing along with them. And that’s when I knew I’d lost my last soldier who’d held ground with me.
