A week.
A week that Griffin has been sick. He has been bed rest for the past week, and his stupid cold won't even get better. It was kind of his fault that he caught a cold in the middle of winter, he also didn't wear any long sleeves or jacket on that day. And he was helping the city and forgot about his own health.
"ACHOO!!"
"You sure you didn't need to go to the doctor?" Ash, who was nursing him for the week, came with the medicine and a compress for him. The master of speed just shook his head, feeling guilty. "Zane already checked on me again yesterday, he said that I only need another vitamins and enough rest" he told him, as Ash then put the medicine beside his bedside tables.
Truthfully, Ash was worried about his condition these past weeks. His health was dropping from the first day he was sick, and it worsened for about 2 days. But after a lot of rest and checking on his cold twice a day, he could say his fever was already low today.
"You should have just told me last week about helping the city. At Least, I could help you and bring some jacket to use"
"Didn't think of it… sorry" Griffin apologized with a strained smile, he tried to laugh it off but he was caught by his coughing fit. "You should rest some more" Ash told him as Griffin nodded and went to sleep, not wanting to argue or causing any trouble any further.
The master of smoke then chuckles as he sees how fast asleep Griffin was now. "Thanks to the fsm that he didn't even get cranky when he was sick" he chuckles even more, then he looks over to his sleeping form, staring at him lovingly. He did thinking about to remove his glasses from his face, "maybe you shouldn't use your glasses to sleep, Griffin"
He then went to remove his glasses, as soon as he removed them he could see the peaceful expression Griffin made when he was asleep, the soft snoring and his chest heaving up and down. Ash could feel his cheek becoming red from staring at him for too long, he really should stop doing that. Before he could do anything further, thankfully someone called out to him to help them.
"Hey Ash! Could you help me for a second?"
"Sure! I'll help you there!" He went to the door and before he left, he looked at Griffin one last time and smiled.

"I better get back to Griffin's now. I haven't checked on him again since the last 2 hour" he informed the others as he got an okay from them.
When he was at Griffin's room, he could see the master of speed still fast asleep peacefully. He sighs in relief to know he was alright, he decides to sit beside him as he watches over him sleep. There's a lot of things he never noticed before about Griffin that is, how he was looking peaceful when he sleeps, even when he is sick like now he never resisting anything, just being obedient for a while that is. He also was quiet when he was sick, making him different from his usual cheery personality.
He also notices how pretty he looks when he is fast asleep, especially those long eyelashes that hide his heterochromia eyes, it makes him even more pretty than any princess or princes in any story he has ever read before. "Shit…" he didn't realize he was falling hard for one of his bestfriends, he tried to deny his own feelings for Griffin. But whatever he tries to do just makes him fall even deeper for the master of speed.
Looks like he has his own charm that he cast on the master of smoke heart.
"Who knew you could make me fall for you huh, Griffin?" Ash asked as he let out a small chuckle, luckily Griffin didn't hear him as he was in a deep sleep when he was in sick mode. To be honest, Ash was scared to have his feelings for his close friend. He didn't want to admit it or confess to him, as he was afraid that Griffin might not reciprocate his feelings and he was scared that their friendship would be torn apart if he confessed to him. "I wish I could easily open up to you as easily as you would…"
He only can just smile as one of his hands reaches and feels Griffin's head to check on his fever, as he thought the fever was long gone and he let out a small sigh of relief. "Thank the fsm it's gone already" and he then ran his fingers along from the sleeping Griffin's head to brush and caressing his soft brunette hair. Ash has a habit that he likes to caress his hair, even though Griffin would never let anyone touch his hair. But, when Ash did it he didn't mind it at all.
"You really have the softest hair and they are beautiful brown colors, not to mention how your eyes compliment eachothers so well"
"Not to mention you are really an amazing person, no wonder many people adores you.. as do I. Heh, I was afraid to confess that I love you, but I am alright with this"
As he was still brushing his fingers in his hair, slowly Griffin then opened his eyes and saw Ash was beside him as he was smiling at him more softly than he used to.
"Ash?"
The master of smoke didn't realize that Griffin was awakened from his slumber, as he then retreats his hand from his hair. Making Griffin secretly wish that he put his hand back to his hair, "you're awake, how are you feeling now?" He asks as Griffin slowly sits up in his bed.
"I'm doing alright now. No more sickness or anything!" He exclaimed with his usual cheerful tone. Ash then smiles for him, he was relieved to hear that.
"That's great, now I should go back to help the others now since you're already feeling alright—"
But before he could leave the room, Griffin reaches his hand to hold onto Ash gloves hands. "Stay for a little bit?" He pleaded as Ash just sighs as he sat again in his previous seat. Griffin then starts to talk to him about his previous confession.
"Do you mean it about earlier?"
"About what?"
"Your feelings for me!"

Oh.
Ash couldn't say anything, as he embraced whatever words that would come out from Griffin's mouth even if it was a rejection. So he only nodded to him, he thought he already knew the answer.
"I like– love you too!"
He didn't hear it wrong, right?
"What? Can you repeat that one more time?"
Griffin then pout as he stare at him, glaring playfully. "Must I really say it again?"
"I'm just saying if I wasn't hearing that wrong or anything" he scoff he could see that Griffin was laughing now, no coughing or sore throat. His laugh was contagious and he has a nice laugh, he loves it.
"Fine. Since you really want to hear it, could you come closer for a little while?" Griffin asked him as the master of smoke came closer to his side as Griffin then whispered something to him. "I like you too, maybe longer that is" He chuckles as Ash's face now is red from the confession as he looks at Griffin with a disbelieving look.
"That's not a lie?"
"Hey! That would be a cruel joke if it was a lie!" Griffin said as he was looking offended, Ash was chuckling hearing this as he reached to hold his hand and caressed it as Griffin smiled at him. "That means we're officially dating now?" He asks, voice full of hope and he gets a nod as an answer and launches himself to the master of smoke body as he cuddles to him, he is too happy to answer anything.
Ash was really happy that he finally got to be together with his crush. It was worth it to having take care of the speed master, it was worth the wait.
