"Good morning— hey where's everyone gone?"
A sleepy Griffin has just woken up from his sleep just to see an empty monastery only leaving him with Jay, who surprisingly didn't go with the others.
"Morning sleepyhead. The others have just left to see a festival downtown that Cyrus just held" he explains as he works on his project that hasn't been done in a few weeks. Griffin then nodded as he went to grab something for breakfast, but he couldn't help wondering about something. "How come you didn't go with them? Usually you would be all giddy up to gushing about it and force us to hear your hyperfixation"
A flush of embarrassment then appeared on Jay's face as he shouted at Griffin, "No I did not! I didn't force you guys to hear my ramblings about Cyrus, I'm just letting out my excited opinion on him" he defended himself, while Griffin laughing at his embarrassment well he can't help to acknowledge how funny and a mess Jay was.
"Stop laughing at me, you airbrain!"
"Hey! My brain is not empty, lightning bug!"
"Don't call me that! Speed demon!"
The two then continue with their nickname war until Jay then suddenly reveals something to Griffin, making the situations become tense as they hear the door open as the other has just came back from the festival that they were supposed to attend for a few hours.
"Hey Jay, Griffin, we're back from the festival. Turns out it's still in preparation—" Lloyd said as he looked up and there's no sight of Jay and Griffin in the living room.
"That's strange… where are they anyway? Usually those two would be playing a game right now" Skylor recalled where usually they are at this rate, but suddenly they heard a banter of bickering from the kitchen.
"Is that…. Jay and Griffin bickering?"
"From the kitchen?"
"Should we check on them?" Zane said as the other then checked the kitchen to see Jay and Griffin still bickering with a full of never ending nickname war. "Are they seriously fighting about giving eachothers a nickname?" Nya grin as the two of the talkative person bickering as a word of nickname was spout out of they're mouth.
The speed and lightning elemental masters didn't realize that the others were already home as they continued with their nickname calling.
"Bag of light"
"Talky"
"Racoon!"
"Hey! Take it back you ferret!"
"Shortbug"
"Speed demon!"
"Are we supposed to stop them?" Neuro sighs already having a headache from the two bickering since they arrived. "Are you kidding? This is much more entertaining than in the festival preparation earlier" Morro laughed as the others agreed, Neuro then just standing there rubbing his temple already having enough headache he got, he really doesn't need anymore to add.
That is until a sudden confession gets out of the mouth. "You're lucky that I like you, Zippy…" Jay sighs as Griffin then froze in his place, a blush painting his face fully from his neck to his ears. Not a single voice comes out from the master of speed lips, Jay then looks up to his face as he could see Griffin become a flustering mess.
"Wait– you like me?" He asks disbelief as he tries to calm himself from the sudden confessions from the blue ninja.
"Already giving you a hint for a year. Thanks for noticing now, zippy…" Jay sighs as a blush now appears on his face, while the other snickering in the back. "You didn't tell me you're crushing on me for a year?!" Griffin shouts as he looks back and forth to Jay and the others in the back.
"You guys know about this??" Griffin asked them as the other nodded, "already know since beginning… you're late to notice by now, Turner" Zane sighs as Jay then blushing even more than before.
"W-well… I guess I like you too, bluejay. Soo, how about a date? Sounds good to you?" He asks Jay as the smaller man smiling as he nodded in agreement. "Yeah, a date sounds great to me… tomorrow?" Jay look at Griffin as he think about it.
"How about this evening, since the festival opening ceremony is these afternoon"
"Sure, this evening. I like the sound of a date with you"
The two of them then blush with a smile of satisfaction on their face as the other in the back can't help to cover their various chuckles and grinning.
