Even before Joe set foot in the living room, Nile looked at Booker, and Joe heard this:
Nile: "Joe is coming."
Booker: "There is no doubt about that."
Joe looked at Nile and Booker.
Joe: "Have you put up more of your spy cams, Book?"
Booker shook his head.
Nile: "With you, there is no need for spy cams."
Joe: "And what do you mean with that?"
Nile: "We can smell you from miles away. Do you bathe in perfume?"
Booker tried his best not to laugh by disappearing behind the laptop.
Joe: "It's called soap if you want to know it. Something Booker never have heard of."
Booker: "For your information, I showered last week."
Joe: "Which was four days ago. And it seems like you have forgotten what the English woman once told you back in the 1870s when we travelled to America on that boat in the cargo hold."
Booker rolled his eyes.
Nile: "Please tell me more."
Joe: "We were four immortals and twenty other people in the cargo hold. And there was this woman who took it upon herself to make sure that everyone every day got washed, had fresh air and something to eat. I think that was why we all made it to America alive and in a healthy condition. Her motto was "Basic hygiene is not a matter of means but a matter of dignity.". I still remember every morning, she would use the broom and hit Booker until he had done what she asked him to do."
Booker: "Fine, I'll shower once I'm done with our new passports. We kinda need them tomorrow."
Joe: "Maybe Nile will disagree with you about that."
Nile: "What do you mean?"
Joe: "Well, Andy called, and she wants us to move up the plan with a day. So, Nicky and I will transport the weapons to the agreed meeting point in the big van, which means you have to chauffeur Booker in the Morris Minor because he has to finish the passport on the go, so maybe you should find the broom to get Booker going, Nile."
Nicky came into the living room.
Nicky: "We got to go if we want to make it today. So, are you coming?"
Joe placed his arm around Nicky's shoulder.
Joe: "Coming, Babe. Oh, you have to leave within an hour. Andy's order."
Booker: "She got to be kidding. Do you know what hazel it is to make documents while driving?"
Nile: "That is a problem for later. You go showering, or else I will get the hose."
Booker: "No way are you doing that..."
Joe smiled as he steered Nicky out of the living room to the sound of Nile and Booker discussing what was more necessary right now: the passports or a shower.
Nicky: "Why did you tell them an hour when Andy said they had tomorrow?"
Joe: "Payback for teasing me."
Joe kissed Nicky.
Nicky: "You're a terrible old man."
Joe: "Yeah, I know."
Joe gave Nicky one of his big charming smiles that showed his dimples. Nicky held up the car keys.
Nicky: "You drive."
Joe took the car keys before kissing Nicky again. Then they got inside the van.
Joe: "More than happy to drive you to the end of the world."
Nicky: "Can we save it for after the mission? It gives me the time to think where we should go next?"
Joe: "Sure thing. So, Love Of My Life, do you think I bathe in perfume?"
It was there Nicky decided to turn on the radio and started singing along to a Kate Bush song.
