I know some people in the fandom think Bernadette/Jim was a bit rushed in season 1 but s1 ep 3 does such a great job with them! Jim takes Bern to his childhood home and tells her about his traumatic past and then around the fire Bern opens up to him and tells him of her traumatic past and both scenes are so beautiful and well acted!
I’m in love with how Jessica Matten played the “I’m here, I’m here!” scene with Bernadette & Jim when he’s all “there’s nothing here for me”. She plays it like she didn’t mean to say that, like it slips out and she regrets saying it.
