Halloween was just around the corner, and that meant Saori was preparing for one of the greatest gatherings of the year.
There was nothing the goddess enjoyed more than a good costume party filled with ghost stories on All Hallow's Eve.
The Kido Mansion had previously served as the primary setting for such an event, but since Saori was now acting as Athena full-time, the party was transferred to Sanctuary's main hall.
Although Halloween wasn't his favorite holiday, Shun was fairly enthusiastic about it because he always put a lot of effort into his costumes and outfits.
The only difference this year was that he would be attending with Hyoga as his boyfriend for the first time.
The Cygnus Saint was not as joyous as Andromeda when it came to costumes, though he did take pleasure in a good role play. His costumes were sort of common and traditional, and not as elaborate as Shun's or Seiya's.
So it was a surprise for Shun when the blond suggested that they should attend the party in matching costumes.
"When you say «matching costumes», do you mean to dress up like... a couple?" Andromeda asked cautiously.
He loved the idea! He himself had thought about that possibility countless times but never had the guts to suggest it. Actually, it was like a dream come true. But the fact that it came from his crabby boyfriend put him on guard.
Who knows what was going through Cygnus' mind when he dared to make such a proposition?
"Of course! What else?" Hyoga exclaimed with a grin on his face.
Shun widened his gaze.
"Just checking," the green-haired Saint said, setting a quick kiss on his boyfriend's cheek right after.
"I just thought it would be a nice thing to do," Hyoga added, noting Andromeda was dying for a fuller explanation, "since it's our first Halloween as a couple."
"You don't have to do it if you don't want to, you know?" Shun declared, making sure Hyoga wasn't feeling obliged to dress up as a couple.
"I thought you'd be more enthusiastic about it." Hyoga frowned.
"I am!" Andromeda clarified. "I just don't want you to do things that make you uncomfortable just for me, ducky, that's all."
"That's like the only reason I'm willing to do so, bunny." Shun gasped lightly. "Seeing you happy and excited is enough reason for me to do anything."
A soft smile was drawn on Andromeda's lips. He walked towards the blond and pressed his mouth against Hyoga's, caressing the blond strands delicately. Cygnus surrounded him by the waist, bringing Shun closer to him.
"So," Hyoga whispered, forehead against forehead, "shall we look for gay couples? There's no way I'll dress as a woman."
Both Saints burst out laughing, still close to each other.
"Two words, my love," Shun added, "Brokeback Mountain."
