Work Text:

Shun was bewildered; he had not been able to enjoy the Halloween party that Saori had planned with so much passion at the Kido Mansion. At first, he had a good time, but now he didn't feel like staying there anymore.

The gang had been preparing their costumes all afternoon, so none of the five Bronze Saints had gotten together much that day. When Shun was ready to go down, he decided to do so with Hyoga, but when he knocked on his door, he received no answer. Hyoga was neither the social type nor the type that enjoyed parties or costumes, but for Shun, he would do anything. However, he would not put on a good face, nor would he make it easier for his companion.

“Hyoga?”

Shun was ignored again.

“Ready?” Seiya, who was leaving his room, slapped his friend on the back.

“I was waiting for Hyoga," he responded with a shy smile.

“Bah! The duck will come down when he's ready; let's go.” Seiya pulled Shun by the arm, heading down the stairs.

The party had a good atmosphere, and the boys' costumes looked great: Shiryu was a werewolf, Seiya was a vampire, Shun was a mummy, and Saori was a ballet dancer; and Ikki... well, he had only dressed in black, claiming that he was a shadow.

Shun was talking to June, who was wearing a witch costume. In the middle of their conversation, he noticed an isolated figure dressed elegantly in a tailcoat and bowler hat. It was not clear who they were, but the Japanese remembered that Hyoga's costume was some kind of dandy or something of the sort, so Shun assumed it was him. He excused himself to June and went in the direction of the mysterious being, who was leaning against the wall near the stairs.

“Hyoga?” he asked when he was closer to him, making his way through the guests.

Before the blonde could respond, the lights went out, plunging the house into deep darkness.

Shun continued advancing until he sensed a person.

“Hyoga? Is it you?” he asked, not knowing where to look. The blonde continued with the horrendous silence that he had opted for before. Shun got upset; he knew the Russian was unsociable, but it was too much.

He was about to leave when he felt a cold hand holding him. The Japanese smiled; that freezing touch could only belong to Hyoga. His fingers intertwined, and Shun felt the same cold sensation touch his lips. A chill ran down his spine.

"You're beautiful," Hyoga whispered.

Immediately afterwards, the lights returned to the place. Seiya had connected too many series on a single plug.

Shun was startled to notice that he was completely alone by the stairs. He was about to look for Hyoga again when a disheveled and sleepy blond came down the stairs.

"Forgive me, Shun; I fell asleep," Hyoga said, holding between his warm hands those of Shun, which were cold.

“Why did you go up again?”

“What are you talking about? I just woke up.”

"But... you were here when the lights went out…”

“The lights went out?”

Shun looked at him, annoyed; he was not in the mood for jokes.

“I promise you, it wasn't me. You're frozen, aren't you cold?”

Shun paled.
