Mikayla had just finished her breakfast, but she stayed on her seat until the rest of her family was done. It was rude to walk away when others were eating.
After what felt like forever, her parents started to take away the dirty dishes to clean them up.
"Go outside and train, children. We'll be with you in a few minutes," the wolf-mom prompted.
"Can we play hide and seek instead?" Mikayla asked hopefully, recieving a frown from her mother.
"Why would you want to do that?" the older woman asked, believing that such ridiculous games were a waste of time and energy.
"For training. We can learn how to seek!" Mikayla explained quickly, hoping that her silly little reason was good enough.
She really didn't feel like actually training so early in the morning.
"Fine. But as soon as me and your father are done here, you'll return to actual training," the wolf-mom said and Mikayla nodded before running outside with the rest of her siblings.
"Who's gonna count first?" the human girl asked as soon as they were outside.
"Rupert!" Margot suggested, knowing that her brother was the worst at hide and seek.
"Fine..." Rupert muttered, glaring at Margot for making him go first.
He turned his back in his siblings and put his paws in front of his eyes before he started to count. Mikayla and her siblings rak off in different directions, desperately trying to find a great spot to hide in hopes to win the game.
Mikayla hid in a hole in a tree. It was dark and dirty, but she didn't complain. Outside in the real world, she would have to hide in uncomfortable spots. In her mind, this was actual training. She could hear Rupert searching for her and her siblings, and she had to fight hard to contain her little giggles when she could hear him get irritated.
She had been hoping to be the last one to be found, but instead, she was the first one. Rupert jumped in front of her with a 'boo!' and Mikayla yelled in surprise. She hadn't expected to he found so quickly, especially with her amazing hiding spot. She blamed Rupert's great nose...
"Help me find the others. They must be around here somewhere!" Rupert said and Mikayla nodded, helping him search.
It took a while to find their other siblings, but they found the winner, Margot, just in time as their parents finished in the kitchen.
"Alright, playtime's over," their father called, recieving his children's attention quickly.
Mikayla was smiling, finally in mood to prove herself for her parents. She was proud of herself for being able to play with her siblings like normal children. Not everything had to be competitive or rough. Sometimes, she just wanted to have fun.
