Sometimes, Samy wondered if he was right for his boyfriend.
Where he was hyper and passionate and constantly bouncing off the walls, and sometimes quite literally climbing them, Arttu was quiet and thoughtful, reserved with his emotions.
If he was fire, blazing a path through every day and everything in his way, Arttu was like ice, seemingly cold but clear and sturdy.
He constantly worried he would burn him out, melt him down to nothing until he had nothing left to give.
But whenever he tried to suggest he wasn't worthy, Arttu would stop whatever he was doing and pull him closer, making him meet his eyes.
"You are not fire burning me out." Arttu told him softly one evening when he had shared his thoughts, "you're warm. So very warm that sometimes I worry I'm not warm enough for you."
Samy gave a small laugh. "You are so thoughtful and keep all of us on track, and we can't both be loudmouths. Thank goodness you are actually quiet or our bandmates would have kicked us both out long ago."
Arttu smiled and leaned forward so their foreheads were pressed together, "I can be cold sometimes." He admitted, "but you warm me right up, you make me laughing and get me to joke around with the guys. Maybe we are fire and ice, maybe you thaw me out and I cool you down, just a little."
Samy laughed a little, "so we're both just pleasantly lukewarm?"
Arttu laughed and hugged him closer. "Exactly. Just keep coming to me when your mind starts to tell you anything else and I'll make sure to set it straight."
Samy nodded and leaned into him more, sighing and relaxing in Arttu's decidedly warm embrace.
