"Oh Alhaitham, you've been such a good boy all day..." Kaveh pressed a light kiss onto Alhaitham's cheek as he brushed passed him into their shared house...not that he'd paid rent in the last three months, Alhaitham complaintlessly covering it for him.
They'd just returned from the bar they'd been at with Cyno and Tighnari for a few hours, the sky littered with stars by the time they'd made the walk home.
And Kaveh had to admit, Alhaitham had behaved perfectly - hiding his longing behind his deceptive stoic expression. Kaveh had promised he'd allow Alhaitham to shower him with as much affection once they'd returned home, but in return, he had to behave himself and keep his hands to himself.
It had been an absolute delight to watch Alhaitham practically itch to caress Kaveh's shoulder, hold his hand as they walked, kiss his cheek as they sat down. It had started with a simple bet.
Tighnari had commented a few weeks before how Alhaitham didn't really seem like the affectionate, cuddly type, and that Kaveh was missing out on all the fun of a clingy boyfriend. Kaveh glanced at Alhaitham when he heard the comment, who merely looked up from his TCG cards dismissively, then back down. To anyone else, it might have seemed like he didn't care - but Kaveh could read him like a book. The way his jaw clenched and he shifted in his seat...the truth was that Alhaitham was possibly the clingiest man Kaveh had ever known. Constantly wrapping his arms around his waist, stroking through his hair, resting his hand on his thigh...When they'd returned home that day, Kaveh had brought it up with a chuckle.
"It's quite funny how they all seem to view you as an unaffectionate robot, Haitham."
Alhaitham had shrugged, not letting go of his grip on Kaveh's waist. "I'm not a touchy feely person, it makes sense."
Kaveh scoffed, turning in his embrace to look at him. "Yes you are. Look at you right now."
Alhaitham had huffed, with a resigned "Whatever." as he buried his forehead back into Kaveh's shoulder, practically half asleep.
Kaveh shook his head, an amused smile on his face. "If you disagree so much, prove it."
Alhaitham groaned, and Kaveh grinned. He'd proposed that the next time they saw their friends, Alhaitham keep from touching him for the whole entire day, until they returned home. If he suceeded, he'd get to show Kaveh all the affection that he wanted, something Kaveh didn't usually allow, much to Alhaitham's dismay, as he knew that once the scribe got a hold of him, it was hard to make him let go. He was often more than content to lie there wrapped around Kaveh for hours. The architect often joked his lack of expression in their day to day life led to all his affection being concentrated into the moments that they had alone.
Alhaitham had wearily accepted, and the result was a completely restless, very regretful Alhaitham a few days later.
After his comment, Kaveh tried to breeze down the corridor casually to tease him, but was immediately stopped by two well muscled arms wrapping around his waist possessively. He chuckled, glancing back at his boyfriend.
"Couldn't wait just a few more seconds, hm...? I didn't give you permission to touch, did I?"
Alhaitham just huffed, then lifted Kaveh up and held him bridal style, causing Kaveh to yelp and place his arms around his neck. He carried him to his bedroom and put him down exceedingly carefully onto the bed. He was used to the princess treatment now, and he couldn't pretend he didn't like it.
Then Alhaitham lay down practically on top of him, blearily pressing light kisses onto his neck and collarbones.
Kaveh smiled, letting his hair out of the meticulous ponytail it had been secured in.
"Perhaps I should make you wait more often, you're being adorably docile now...You've always just been hiding this side of yourself, haven't you? The obedient little puppy..."
Usually, Kaveh would have punished Alhaitham for not waiting for permission, but truth be told, he was looking forward to relaxing with his boyfriend anyway. Even Kaveh couldn't maintain social energy for too many hours, and spending so much time with Cyno and Tighnari (and Cyno's terrible jokes) had tired him out.
Alhaitham groaned, burying his face in the architect's shirt to hide his blush.
"Making you wait is so effective...How cute, you really can't keep your hands to yourself, can you? What would you do if I told you you had to stop now? You'd obey me, wouldn't you?"
Alhaitham didn't look up, his voice muffled into the shirt. "Kaveh, don't..."
"Look at me, Alhaitham."
The scribe did so, eyes narrow but pupils blown wide with desperation, or perhaps by the influence of alcohol, but Kaveh would prefer for it to be the first.
"Good boy...aren't you going to thank me? I know you obeyed me, but this is still a generous reward for being good all day..."
Alhaitham let out a long suffering sigh, then spoke quietly. "...Thank you."
"There you go, there's my good boy again~" Kaveh grinned as Alhaitham hid his face again.
They lay there, the scribe draped over the architect, until Kaveh heard Alhaitham's soft breathing indicate that he'd finally fallen asleep, arms still wrapped around him and face still buried in his stomach. He cooed at how soft his boyfriend could be and gently stroked through his hair, heart swelling when Alhaitham mumbled something in his sleep, even unconsciously leaning into his touch. Eventually, he couldn't help himself and drifted off himself, warmed both inside and out by the affection from his secretly sweet boyfriend.
A shame that nobody would know how affectionate Alhaitham could be, but Kaveh would really rather keep it that way and have the fragility of the moment all to himself. Even as they slept, bodies intertwined, all Kaveh knew was how in love he was with his secretly clingy boyfriend, and that he'd love him for the rest of their lives.
