“Mei. Mei. Mei.” Mk repeated boredly, poking the girl in the cheek with his finger as she lay on his bed, scrolling through her phone.
"What?" Mei asked in an equally bored tone.
"Do something." groaned the young hero.
"What?" the black-haired girl asked again.
"I don't know. Something cheap, I'm about to get paid.” replied the boy.
“Let's go to the park?” the girl suggested.
“No, we still have no idea what to do.” replied Monkie Kid.
"Video games?" asked the descendant of the great dragon.
"I do not want." the boy sighed, turning onto his back.
"So I do not know." Mei replied, going back to scrolling through her phone as Mk started admiring his ceiling.
He noticed a fly on it. Bored, he activated his golden vision to observe the ordinary insect more closely, but after a while he got bored and rubbed his eyes. The young hero sighed heavily again, contemplating his marathon of the Monkie King series, when Mei perked up with renewed energy.
“Mk tonight is the night of shooting stars!” the girl informed excitedly.
"And?" the boy asked anemically.
“I'll say it again. Today. Is. Night. Of. Shooting. Stars. You know who loves stargazing but is ashamed of it?" Mei asked with a growing smile showing her fangs.
“I don't know, I don't want to think… Red Son!” Monkie Kid suddenly shouted, rising from the bed.
"Exactly." Mei nodded, smiling.
“I know a place on Flower Fruit Mountain that has a perfect view and Monkie King won't bother us.” the happy boy announced.
“I'll take care of the snacks, drinks and extra blankets.” said the descendant of the great dragon.
“I'll make sure about Monkie King and get our place ready.” Mk replied, pulling the staff from his ear.
“I'll see you here in two hours.” Mei replied, jumping out the window as the hero was already bouncing on his stick towards the island, waving to her that he had heard.
Satisfied, Mei started making a shopping list. By the way, she decided to approach Pigsy and inform him about their plans so that he wouldn't worry unnecessarily.
~~~~~~
At the agreed time, the snacks were bought, as well as the drinks, and the blankets and candles were already placed in the place chosen by Mk. In short, everything was ready and there was only one thing left for them, possibly the most difficult thing to do.
Red Son's kidnapping.
Maybe it would be easier to just invite him or present him with a fait accompli, but once the chaotic duo learned the courtship customs of demons, they really liked one of the options. Since then, both of them would kidnap their partner from time to time, just to embarrass him a bit and prove something to him at the same time. Red Son was furious with them at first, but over time he started to get used to it and simply rolled his eyes before asking what they were planning this time. Once, together, they managed to kidnap the prince right under the noses of DBK and PIF, who had no idea how to react until it was too late. Mk and Mei then got their blessing to date their son and later marry, much to the delight of the two kidnappers, Red Son's surprise, Macaque's amusement, and everyone else's horror.
"What's your plan?" the boy asked once they were near the fortress.
“This time it's your turn to think monkie man.” Mei pointed out.
"All right. You enter through the front entrance while I, in the form of a bird, sneak in from the other side. This way we will focus our attention on you and search more of the area.” replied the boy.
“So we have some action today. It's finally going to be fun.” replied Mei, satisfied, when Mk, already in bird form, was flying, looking for the entrance and after a while hearing a bang accompanying the black-haired woman, who easily entered the room, creating noise.
However, Mk first went to check his partner's room and it turned out to be the right choice, because Red Son was changing his clothes. Silently, Mk created a bag and at the right moment threw it over his beloved's head, quickly escaping from the fortress and letting his friend know that he had what they came for. The demon struggled in the bag, screaming at the monkie kid, but it was muffled by the bag.
“This is getting too easy.” The girl said happily as she caught up with her friend on the cloud in her dragon form.
“At least Red knows we care.” the brown-haired man replied, holding the kicking and burning sack.
"I will kill you!" growled the irritated prince.
“Baby, don't say that, you know we love you.” Mei replied, jumping onto the cloud in her human form and taking the bag from Mk, who was focusing on controlling the cloud.
"Yes? Why then do I almost always end up in the bag?!” Red Son screamed in anger.
“Actually, we have to come up with something new, how much fun can we have with the bags.” Monkie Kid replied.
“Maybe handcuffs?” Mei suggested and Mk smiled.
“I guess it's better to leave that for another time.” the hero replied, and Mei nodded solemnly.
"You're right. Maybe it's a cage? Little one, how in the Middle Ages were prisoners hung on walls so that ravens would peck out their eyes and eat them alive?” asked the descendant of the great dragon, and the young hero shuddered in disgust and shook his head.
“If you tried something like that, Dragon Girl, I would burn you alive.” Red Son promised.
“Okay, then we need to think about it.” shrugged Mei, jumping down from the cloud and pulling the demon down once they were there.
“Okay, end of the ride.” Mk laughed as well, jumping down and disappearing the cloud.
“So where and why are we?” the demoness asked as the bag was removed from her.
“Flower Fruit Mountain.” the young hero answered the first question by kissing his beloved.
“Tonight is the night of shooting stars!” Mei announced happily, showing the prepared place to spend the night and also kissing her beloved.
Mk prepared a huge mattress, which he covered with blankets and surrounded them to slightly shield them from the wind, creating something like a nest, which, although it was not his original idea, appealed to him. There was a small cooler on the side of their large den, a small box with extra blankets and pillows, and scented candles to ward off mosquitoes and other insects.
“How do you like it?” Mk asked after a while.
"Is beautifully." Red Son replied, but then became serious. “But I would appreciate it more if you didn't kidnap me.”
“You're whining.” Mei replied, dragging the prince to the nest, where the three of them lay comfortably with Red Son between them. They began to watch the sky in silence, waiting for something to happen.
“Where are the stars?” Monkie Kid murmured urgently when nothing had happened for a while.
“Noodle boy, but you know that the night of shooting stars is just a common name? Stars are actually balls of hot gas located at a huge distance from the Earth, in which thermonuclear reactions take place. So it's obvious that none of them can 'fall' and have nothing to do with shooting stars. They are actually meteors that were previously meteoroids.” Red Son spoke calmly.
"I love you." Mk only replied, causing the demon to blush.
“I love you too, NoodleBoy.” muttered the embarrassed prince.
“I see them!” Mei shouted at the same moment, and the first meteors began to appear in their field of view. “And I love you too.”
"I love you both." Red Son sighed, admiring the stars before her eyes and shaking the hands of his partners, whom he loved more than life itself, even though she was reluctant to admit it.
The three of them spent the rest of the night admiring the display of the forces of nature and the cosmos, and one by one they fell asleep, cuddled together. In a forgotten and unknown place with only the stars as witnesses of their young and charming love.
