Work Text:

It is common knowledge that Gabriel Agreste isn't just a renowned stylist and an inspiring figure, but also someone with immeasurable power. So when the media found out about the Diamonds' Dance and everything that happened on the occasion, even the smallest details made it into the news.

Now, the entire France knew about the peacock miraculous and its possession, and everyone was trying to understand the reasons behind Félix's actions. Was it anger? Empathy? Melancholy?

"The people of Paris are theorizing what motivates Félix Fathom, the one who is now known by Argos, our new supervillain." Nadja Chamack said through the TV. Everyone was obsessed for new info.

"It is believed that Félix is moved not only by his empathy for Adrien Agreste, his cousin, but also by the alleged love he feels for Kagami Tsurugi-" The sentence was rapidly cut when the device went off, being possible to hear a giggle coming from the blonde boy.

People always invent something every time they can't explain an event, which is the reason myths and legends exist, like Bigfoot in the United States, and Dahu in France; currently, though, this stuff is used to explain monotonous things, like lies and secrets.

And between these creations, there was the one that irritated Félix the most: love. It is normal to hear "love will change you" and "the power of love is always so strong", but saying that this is a lie was almost like saying that water and H2O are the same: a thing everyone knows. The difference is that, instead of accepting that not everything can be explained, people prefer to believe in the false hope that romance can be the cure to anything, and that makes Félix enraged for a simple reason: he can't feel romantic attraction.

"I certainly would sacrifice everything for the person I deeply love" He mocked with a smile on his face. "Pathetic. They could name so many better reasons… Any would be less of a pain than this one"

He put his head on his hands, trying to stop hearing the vibration coming from his phone, a million notifications being received about the topic. Trying to understand how everything could be summarized in something as ordinary as romance.

"What type of person would go so far for something like this?" He whispered, because even if he screamed to the whole France hear it, no one would believe him.

Félix was fighting for a better world, a world where everyone could be free, knowing that not a single soul could understand him. His intentions and thoughts mean nothing; romance moves the world, and not even the powerful aromantic can change this part of the society.
