Work Text:
Shin was semi-sprawled across Hiyori’s lap as the two rested on the floor. Work was tiring for them both today. Hiyori, sitting up, was softly running his fingers through Shin’s hair as Shin was turned away from Hiyori, watching a silent video on his phone. It was quite quiet, with the only sounds to be heard coming from the ceiling fan running above them both.
Once his video ended, Shin set down his phone and laid there for a while longer. The feeling of his friend stroking his hair was enough to send him to sleep at this point. Though, if he did, it’d leave Hiyori to pick him up and place him on the sofa. That didn’t sound half bad, but doing so on purpose might make Shin feel just a little bit guilty, even if he did smile at the thought.
He turned to Hiyori to say he was going to sleep. Hiyori’s eyes could always be quite disturbing and make him feel uneasy. But for some reason, just in this moment, he didn’t look so scary. Maybe it’s because he was smiling slightly, or because he was brushing the hair out of Shin’s eyes as he looked at him, or because the way he looked at him was as if Shin was the most precious thing in the world. Hiyori looked so caring. He looked kind. He looked adorable.
“...Kiss me.”
That seemed to catch Hiyori off guard. His pupils dilated and he stopped moving for a moment. “Eh..?” Shin noticed his cheeks turn a tad pink, too.
“Kiss me.” He said it with more certainty. He wasn’t sure why he said that to begin with, but it felt right.
Hiyori looked more flustered now. He managed an awkward laugh and his cheeks seemed to turn a deeper shade of rose. “Haha, what do you mean, Shin?”
Shin knew that Hiyori knew what he meant. It kind of surprised him to see Hiyori blush at being asked for a kiss given how outgoing he can be. But this surprise wasn’t unwelcomed by any means.
He smiled a bit sarcastically at his friend. “I said kiss me, stupid.”
Hiyori still looked a bit confused and flustered by the sudden request, but tilted Shin’s head up nonetheless. As he did, he leaned down to plant a gentle kiss on Shin’s forehead. It was only for a second, and Hiyori lifted his head back up to examine Shin's face afterward.
Shin suddenly wrapped his arms around Hiyori’s torso and snuggled his face into his chest. “Ehehe.. You just... looked so loving, the way you looked at me.”
After he said that, it was back to silence. Hiyori decided not to break it. Instead, he nuzzled Shin’s head and held him closer. Shin could feel Hiyori's heartbeat from this close. It pounded as if he'd just run a marathon. Haha, he really didn't expect Hiyori to be the type to get so worked up over a little kiss on the forehead.
By the time Hiyori moved again, Shin had already fallen asleep.
