At least in dreams, Scott puts the ballroom to good use.
There was nothing shameful about it, really. Scott was a monster, by choice, and he was beautiful, by birth’s right, by blood, by the way he consciously carried himself because it was what he deserved. They were a monster, and they were ugly. By birth’s right. If you will.
Subconsciously, Scott wants to raise a palm to that rashing, sickness-ridden skin, but once again, his hand is gripping another instead, unable to let go. He’s not letting them go and they’re not letting him, that’s it.

Nice slowly looks up at him, arm helpfully putting itself back together, only a crack widened. Tuya Wang, he has a hand up to his mouth for just a split moment muffing the rest of the word. Nice watches the flare-up go through, the way his claws twitch and scratch at the sides of his face, a swallow made by the throat choking down the moan, projected out teeth gnawing, eyes burning open and then unseeing, being covered over. And then it’s gone.
“Nice,” Tuya Wang rasps. He reaches out a hand and starts approaching slowly, like handling a wounded dog. His eyes darkened, fingers and elbows and teeth all angled.
‘Him,’ Nice thinks with satisfaction. He could kill him for a moment as well.
Nice’s body is taken in by Spotlight. It's a “win-win” situation for everybody involved, Mickey says.

The thing is, John is trying really fucking hard at this whole “communication” thing. But sometimes, there are things he can’t say. He can’t tell Arthur that he doesn’t like the brand of almond milk he’s been using in John’s tea, and he can’t tell him that he still has nightmares sometimes about Hastur wrapping his hands around Arthur’s neck and twisting until Arthur goes limp and still, and he can’t tell him that he still wonders sometimes why Arthur wants anything to do with him at all.
And he can’t tell Arthur about this.

Or, John goes through a period of sex repulsion that lines up with the first time Arthur initiates sex after they get back together. But it’s fine. Or at least, that’s what John’s telling himself.

Following the death of his daughter, famous film composer and pianist Arthur Lester drops out of the music scene and disappears from the public eye. Ten years later, Arthur now works as a private investigator and has no interest in performing or composing ever again.
