Honestly, Jayce had thought his relationship with his estranged ex-partner couldn't get any worse. He'd watched it crash, burn, and die himself. Hell, he'd pulled the trigger. But of course Viktor would just have to prove him wrong, returning on the eve of his greatest scientific achievement to date. And, goddamn, it does not go how he'd expected. In the bad direction.
As he moves up in the world in the aftermath, hailed as both Piltover’s heroic defender and unmatched genius in the field of hextech (when he only ever wanted to be ONE of those things), he’s hounded by his new/old archnemesis and, even worse, celebrity status. Scarier yet, things with Viktor are still . . . complicated. Just because he can’t seem to bring himself to kill him doesn’t mean there’s any chance they’d ever come back together. Surely not out of necessity after Jayce does something stupid. Right?

I'd sit on his left side, I'd inhale his scent; I could hide here, huddle and freeze. No one would touch me. His touch was a touch. I looked at him, and there were screams all around. Shaking, people jumping up from their seats, shirts scuffed up, exposing flat and not enough skin I wasn't supposed to see.

CB doesn’t answer immediately. He’s not really sure what to say. Right after it happened, he tried to cover it up. Overcompensate in the worst way. He was acting like Matt. Like a pig.
In the months since it happened, and especially the past couple of weeks since graduating, he’s toned it down a little. Matt never came back to school — he was sent to the psych ward — and Lucille eventually did, and he’s been more or less back to himself since then. He’s not even sure what that means anymore.
All of this just means that CB has no fucking idea how to answer that question. Sally suggested CB could call him his boyfriend, but he hasn’t except for the one time he said it to Beethoven’s face. He isn’t gay; he knows he likes girls. He hasn’t ever liked a guy other than Beethoven. But he did like Beethoven.
