Welcome to the Circus

Summary:

I have decided to turn this into a short one-shot book!

I struggle with finishing full length fics so this gives me a chance to write short ones!

Chapter 1: Welcome to the Circus

Summary:

As soon as you arrived in the Amazing Digital Circus, you ran to your room and hid inside for a week, not allowing anyone to come in. However, a purple rabbit lets himself in and it was just what you needed.

Chapter Text

It's been one week since you got transported into this weird world, one week since you locked yourself in your room due to sensory overload and trying to fully come to terms with your new situation. It had been too much and it didn't matter how many times the others came to your room to get you out, you refused, not wanting to face the new reality even though you knew they were just trying to help. You didn't need to eat to drink or even sleep, so it was total isolation with the bare space that was your room with nothing in it. Sure, it was starting to get to you, but you couldn't decide which was worse. Avoidance was going great until you heard the telltale sign of a lock being opened, who had a key?

"Hey new guy, you've been in here since you arrived and uh…wanted to make sure you haven't abstracted" It was the purple rabbit who insulted you as soon as you came, even if it was joking, why was he the one to check up on you? How did he even get in? He did sound genuinely concerned even if he was covering it up with being careless. You didn't have the heart to kick him out though, you didn't know why, he just felt somewhat comforting to be around right now. Maybe you finally were breaking and you needed social interaction after all this time.

"Shut the door" You spoke weakly as you stared from the plain bed you were sitting on and trying to entertain yourself on. He gently shut the door and stared at you with worried eyes.

"I know everything is confusing but uh…don't be scared ok? We're-" he sighed before continuing "we're here to help. We've been just as stuck as you so please, come out. We don't want you to be abstracted" he slowly approached, making it even more obvious that he wasn't used to comforting others, however, it made you appreciate his behavior even more.

"You said that the first time. What's abstracted?" You craved a hug, his touch, something , willing him to just wrap you up in his arms.

" when you basically lose your sanity and become this huge glitch monster. That's why we've been trying to get you out uh…we never gave you a new name did we?" He obviously didn't want to discuss what being abstracted was in depth, but you had no reason not to believe him. He was right though, since your old life and name was forgotten, you would have been given a new name, but you ran off before that could happen.

"Ya know, we actually called ya Hidey because ya went and well…hid in your room heh…" Hidey…it wasn't a bad name actually. You only noticed how close the rabbit got when you looked down at your blankets on your lap and back to him. He was standing only about a foot away from you, which increased the need to hug, arms twitching.

"You ok?"

"Can you hug me? I mean uh…can I hug you please? Also Hidey is as good a name as any I guess" Gulping, you stared at your green blankets again as you felt long, skinny arms wrap around you, embracing you. You quickly wrapped your own around him and held right, tears threatening to spill.

"I'm scared…" You told yourself you wouldn't cry, you TOLD yourself you wouldn't, that you would stay strong.

"It's-it's alright Hidey, we all were when we first came here, trust me, it's going to be ok . We're all here for each other" the rabbit was tense, most likely because physical affection wasn't his thing either besides providing comfort, but he still gave you a hug to make you feel better. You both didn't know each other…why was he being so nice?

"T-thank you uh…I never got your name" You pulled away to look at him, permanent smile and unmoving teeth, but he was quite cute you would admit it.

"Jax, my name is Jax. Trust me and come outside ok?" He pulled away fully and stood up, waiting for you to join him.

"Give me a second, ok? I just…need a minute" Taking a breath in, you muster up a very small smile as you looked at Jax, trusting him.

"Ok, but you better not be any longer, k? I'll be waiting outside and if you aren't out here in a few, I WILL drag you out myself. Got it hot stuff?" He smirked, demeanor completely changing as he sported a smug grin, walking to your door, opening it, winking, and then leaving and shutting it behind him. Did he call you "hot stuff?" He was an interesting fellow for sure, but you guess it's time to finally face reality and introduce yourself to everyone else, as much as you can considering your old life was nonexistent.
