Work Text:

It was their wedding day...kinda. After years of dating, and an engagement, they were going to sign their marriage certificate. But of course, there was a little trouble.

"Man, this is kinda nerve-wracking princess."

"It's just paper, kitty, but I know what you mean. I'll look away if you want."

"No, you're going to be my wife, you should see this." Chat picks up the pen and writes his signature.

"Haha, very funny Chat Noir. Using the name of the guy I had a crush on."

"Well, actually..." Chat desuits and reveals himself.

"Nope. Alright, you're playing a very not-funny trick, kitty." Marinette can feel her whole body warming up.

"Aw c'mon princess, isn't this a dream come true?" After getting over his fear, Adrien quickly decides to play a trick.

"Nope, no way. I refuse to believe this. You- YOU TALKED TO ME ABOUT YOURSELF!" Marinette gasped at the end in betrayal.

"YOU HEARD EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT YOU!!!" Marinette was officially redder than a tomato.

"Yeah, I gotta admit, it was a little weird but nice knowing how much you knew about me." Adrien, oh God no it's Adrien, smiles at her coyly.

Marinette walks away before she faints from shock, yelling,"I'm not getting married to you, you sneaky cat!"

"Too late! You were the first to sign it, remember!" He happily yelled just as he picked up the certificate to show to the whole world (not really, they did get a private room).

"And I have the keys! Marinette! MAAAARRRRIIIINEEEETTEEEE! Come back!" He starts running after her before she gets too far to hear him.

Some time later...

Mari walks into the living room where Adrien is sitting, lazingly, on the couch. "I figured it out."

"Hm?" He glances over at her (and if his eyes screamed adoration, well that's an unnecessary detail).

"A way to get back at you." She plants her hand on her hips and mischievously smiles at him.

"Uh oh, what do you have planned princess?" He looks a little scared, when he should be fearing for his life.

"I- would you please stop calling me that with that face." She turns her head away a little sheepishly.

"Nah, I quite adore seeing your face redden when I say it. Like when we were new!" He sighs in memories of when they had just begun dating and she was getting used to being called princess.

"Ugh, kitty," she grumbles then says," speaking of when we were new. Before we started dating, you used to talk a lot about Ladybug didn't you?"

"Uh, where'd this going Mari?" Adrien chuckles nervously and sits up.

"Oh, just a little to the left of where you think it is," she says before suiting up.

Marinette opens her eyes (as they were closed during transformation so she couldn't see his face) and sees exactly what she wanted.

"No."

"Yep. C'mon kitty, don't tell me you're suddenly embarrassed about all those days you chased and went off about me?"

"Marinette, this is not a very funny joke!"

"So you admit it's funny?" She smiles a big smile.

"Ugh, I guess you really did get your payback..." He slips off the couch in a depressing matter.

Marinette walks over, after desuiting, and puts him up back onto the couch. Then she sits down and hands him some macarons she made a little before she played her joke.

"Don't be mad kitty, honestly, we should've seen this coming. All the signs were there."

"Yeah, they really were... By the way, as far as I'm aware, you fell in love with me before I fell in love with you."

"Yes and then we fell out of love and you fell in love with me first."

"Mmm, doesn't really count though, does it?"

"Oh it definitely counts. By the way," Marinette turns her head to look at him in the eyes.

"Hm?" He mumbles with his mouth full.

"We should have a wedding."

Adrien swallows all the food in his mouth," Definitely,  I need to see you in a wedding dress."

"Good, because I already designed everyone's outfits."

"Oh Marinette, really? I can't wait to see them! Well, I suppose I can. We'll have to explain to everyone else why we're getting married." Her husband, goodness her husband is Adrien Agreste and also Chat Noir, excitedly talks.

"You're right, ugh they're gonna be so confused and it's all our fault." She grumbles before snacking on a macaron.

"Well, that and the bet." He grabs a handful before putting them in his mouth for he had no shame of eating pastries like an animal in front of his (extremely lovely, i-dont-deserve-her) wife.

She snaps her head," The what?"

"You didn't know this because you were class president but everyone made bets on our love lives." He just continues eating.

"And you know this why?" She says suspiciously.

"Nino tells me everything." They're best bros, of course he does. (Which makes Adrien feel a little guilty about the secret identity and relationship but honestly Nino would understand).

"And of course, Alya doesn't..."

"Well, she's the one who begun the whole thing so, yeah."

Marinette's eyes bulge out before grabbing a handul and macarons and angrily snacking on them," Right, not inviting her to the wedding."

"You don't mean that princess." He rubs her back and snuggles a little closer.

Marinette sighs," Of course I don't. I forgive her, only if she gives me half the money."

"Wow, sneaky princess! Where did that come from?" He happily rubs his cheek over her hair as he snuggles even closer.

"Aw c'mon Chat, we both know it's always been there." She finishes eating her moutful of macarons.

"Yeah, it's almost what I married you for." He plants his face between her necks and grabs her waist. (Goodness this boy is in love.)

"Wait, what did you marry me for?" She looks up so he can cram his face in a little more.

"Your baking." He mumbles happily into her neck.

"Wow. I guess food is the way to a man's stomach and thus his heart." Guess her mama was always telling the truth.

"Yep. Nothing better than fresh macarons." He kisses her neck just before he shifts them to lay flat on the couch so they can cuddle and fall asleep as the moon rises.

Notes:

Aw, I might write more with how much I loved this.
