Work Text:
Haerin doesn't understand why Danielle's on the couch.
She doesn't understand why she's laying there with her, but Haerin doesn't want to think about it too much. Doesn't wanna think too hard about how Danielle's arms are wrapped around her midriff, squeezing with just enough force to be perfectly comforting.
"Please stay," Danielle murmurs, as if she's not holding Haerin in place. She wouldn't leave, even if she could.
"Of course," Haerin whispers out of courtesy. "I'll be here when you wake up."
"Haerinie, I love you," Danielle rasps.
This is something Danielle says on the regular. Normally, Haerin would laugh it off, would cry it off.
This time, Haerin is inclined to believe this situation is anything but normal . The two of them are curled up on the couch late at night. Danielle holds onto her like Haerin's her lifeline – she's been exhausted these days.
And most importantly, Haerin feels Danielle's heart speed up upon saying those words.
So Haerin will allow herself to believe Danielle means something more. She'll probably forget about it in the morning anyways.
"Love you, too."
