Chapter Text
It was cold. Cold enough for a big jacket and lots of layers, but not enough to keep the falling snow from turning to slush and mixing in with the dirty muck in the concrete. It made for an ugly sight, but the colorful and vibrant city lights were a decent distraction for anyone willing to lift their gaze just a bit higher than themselves.
The slush reflected those lights, switching from red, to orange, to pink and yellow and white and purple, and then off until its rotation began again. It was a cycle that would always ultimately end in the slush becoming its true colors once again- gray and black with hints of brown or green, depending on its surrounding habitat.
Nobody paid attention to the slush though, no matter what color it was. Its color didn’t matter, because in the end everyone knew that it was still slush. Slush mixed with dirt and grass and anything else the sidewalk had acquired from its user’s feet. It would melt in the morning though, and everyone would forget about it until the next time.
Eijiro felt like slush right now.
•••
This wasn’t the ideal type of weather for, well, anything. It was, for the lack of a better word, useless; not cold enough for the fallen snow to build up and create the winter wonderland everyone always spoke of during this time of year, but definitely freezing enough to burn the tips of Katsuki’s ears within seconds of getting out the car.
He had hesitated to open the door at first, his pure hatred for the slightly less than freezing weather keeping him at bay, but the snow was starting to pick up again, leaving him with no choice other than to rush into the store and get back home as quickly as possible in order to not get stuck on the side of the road during a storm. And so, the plan was set in motion: Get in, get the hot cocoa, get out, and go the fuck home.
Katsuki mentally kicked himself for going through so much trouble for such a childish thing, but he continued nonetheless, slamming and locking his car door and rushing into the corner store with his hands stuffed in his pockets. He wanted his hot chocolate, goddamnit. A shiver ran down his spine when he finally made it into the warm building lit up by bright fluorescent lights built into the ceiling. He never really liked this place, but it was the only store run by people stupid enough to stay open mere minutes before an incoming storm like this.
“Welcome in,” the clerk greated Katsuki with a faint smile.
A smile Katsuki had never bothered to pay attention to. He let out a quick grunt in response, and if the clerk failed to hear him, it didn’t matter. His hearing aids stuck out like a sore thumb, a warning that you had a 50/50 chance of getting a response depending on whether or not they were turned on. For Katsuki though, it was more of a 20/80 chance. He didn’t bother turning them on unless he was driving or listening to music, and would go out of his way to turn them off if someone he didn’t care for walked into his space. That space being… all of Japan.
The only people he put up with talking to already knew sign language. And if he met someone new that he felt a bit more inclined to communicate with and they didn’t know sign language, he was no longer interested. It wasn’t like he expected everyone in Japan to learn sign language just for him. He expected everyone in Japan to learn sign language for all deaf people.
Eijiro had always told him that that way of thinking wouldn’t solve anything. That not everyone had the time, money, or physical ability to learn such a complex language. The redhead was always such a softie, not that Katsuki was complaining. He was the only person he truly enjoyed being around.
It helped that they could communicate too. Hell, the fact that they could communicate was probably the reason Katsuki let the guy into his bubble in the first place. Eijiro, as eye-catching and energetic as he was, did not speak. Katsuki didn’t exactly know his situation, nor did he really care. The guy was mute and knew sign language, and that’s all that mattered to the blonde.
The thought of that damn idiot brought Katsuki’s lips to curl into a small smile as he walked down the aisle. He wanted to say he didn’t know why, but he did, and he hated it. Being gay wasn’t the problem. Katsuki never had a problem with that, and if anyone else did, he could just pummel them for being such a dumbass. It was more because, well, it was Eijiro Kirishima- his best friend who was very straight.
But it was fine! It was whatever! Katsuki never really cared all that much about his love life, and if he ended up alone forever, so be it. Living alone sounded much better than sharing all of his belongings anyway, even if he did try to share everything with Eijiro already. It’s just the way things are sometimes, and Katsuki had better things to be angry about.
Like how the damn clerk still hadn’t caught on to the fact that he was deaf as a doornail, even after he toyed with his hearing aids in an attempt to make them noticed. She tried making stupid conversation while ringing up his hot chocolate, only to be met with a silence Katsuki was so used to, it was only awkward for her. She probably thought he was just a rude customer too, which is what bothered the blonde the most. Everyone always assumed he was being rude, even on the rare occasions when he was outwardly trying to be polite.
He could also be angry at the door that was labeled ‘pull’ when in reality it was meant to be pushed, making a fool out of anyone who dared enter the building, including himself. The cold punching him in the face was also something to be upset about, nipping at his ears and causing the metal in his hearing aids to freeze over just enough to create condensation. That was seriously one of the largest inconveniences of his day to day life.
But the best reason Katsuki had found to be angry, at least at the moment, was the sturdy body that had walked right into him the moment he’d exited that damn building. He watched in horror as his hot chocolate fell to the floor, splattering on the concrete and melting the useless sludge that was building up against the brick buildings. Now that was something he could be angry about.
“You motherfucker!” The blonde shouted, his once content face contorting into that of an angry gremlin for probably the fifth time that day. He reached out to grip the perpetrator by the hem of their shirt, grasping onto air when he was too slow to catch them. “Hey! You fucking asshole, you’re gonna pay for this!”
He walked as fast as his bare feet would take him on that freezing concrete, though it was to no avail. He was weak, and Katsuki was far too upset to just let him get away with it, but he tried to escape nonetheless, terrified of the inevitable consequences of being found out.
Katsuki only needed to take a few long strides to catch up, gripping onto his shoulder and spinning him around so fast he was sure it hurt. Bare feet twisted until he was facing the blonde, something that had surprised Katsuki, even for just a moment. His basketball shorts were damp and thin, not nearly enough coverage to keep him warm, nor was the t-shirt and thin sweater clothing his torso.
Katsuki grimaced for just a second, a drop of guilt mixing into his boiling anger and making no difference in his next move. Just because this asshole was some homeless bum, didn’t mean he could just run into people without at least apologizing. He messed with his aids for a few seconds, allowing himself to finally hear a bit of a world around him. “You gonna say something?! At least some goddamn acknowledgment!”
It all happened so fast for the two of them. Katsuki damn near ripped the hood from atop the other boy’s head. Bright, red hair was revealed in an instant. Familiar, bright, beautiful red hair.
“Shitty hair…?”
A shiver erupted from the redheads spine, a shiver that would only falter once he was finally within warmth. His teeth chattered, small, pained noises erupting from his mouth like a muffled sob. He couldn’t do this. He couldn’t face Katsuki, not while looking so defeated, basically on the verge of death. This was his problem and his alone, and Katsuki shouldn’t even need to witness a single second of what he’s going through.
So he turned away, groaning from the pain in his feet and the burn in his chest from the cold air. He needed to escape. Somewhere. Anywhere where his best friend wasn’t, even if that meant under a bridge or in an alleyway for the night.
“Shitty- Kirishima…? What the fuck? What…” Katsuki could barely speak. What were words good for anyways? His body jumped into action, gripping the redhead's arms with not nearly as much force as his previous actions, pulling him back without hesitation.
Why was Eijiro out here so late? Why was he dressed like this, with no shoes and absolutely zero forms of heat to survive off of? Why was he trying to leave? What happened? There was too much going on, and Katsuki felt like he was about to have a panic attack. He ripped his aids from his ears and stuffed them in his pocket, an attempt at grounding himself before he really did freak out and let Eijiro escape.
A slight pull of Eijiro’s arm brought the blonde from his thoughts and back into the frozen, unforgiving reality of right now. He shook his head, fingers tightening around the redhead's arm. With just one hand available, he awkwardly pulled his giant puffy jacket off and basically scooped Eijiro into it, wrapping him up tightly and pulling the hood over his head.
He needed an explanation, but not right now. Not when Eijiro’s poor feet were about to freeze from the ground. Not when his shivering continued, and Katsuki’s own shaking began when his biggest layer came off. Fuck the hot chocolate. Katsuki huffed before pulling the redhead into his arms and lifting him from the ground bridal style.
Eijiro didn’t put up much of a fight. Well, not as much as Katsuki had expected, but he understood why. It probably felt amazing to get his feet off of the concrete, not to mention the pure exhaustion he must be experiencing from… whatever the hell this situation is.
Katsuki plopped the redhead into the backseat of his car and slammed the door, making his way to the driver's seat in no time and starting the car. He couldn’t get that heater on fast enough, and when it was finally blasting hot air into the car, he stared back at Eijiro with furrowed brows and an extremely confused frown.
“What happened to you?” Katsuki’s hands were snappy and quick as he signed, his lips pressed into a thin line.
Eijiro didn’t answer. He only looked at him for a few seconds before staring out the window. The rain was starting back up again, bound to turn into snow any moment, and it looked like hell for anyone who was stuck out there all night. Still, he reached for the door handle and pulled.
The door didn’t budge, nor did Katsuki’s concern. The blonde clapped his hands to grab Eijiro’s attention and, with a harsh huff, signed again. “Do you want to die? I’m not letting you out there, idiot. Where are your shoes?”
Eijiro glared for only a moment before staring down at his feet. His soles were black and dirty and damn near frozen, just as the rest of his body had been before Katsuki had forced him into the nice, warm car and bombarded him with questions.
Embarrassment warmed his face better than the car heater as he continued to look down at them. Did he seriously look like he was going to die? He damn well felt like it, at least. But with shaky hands, Eijiro signed to the best of his ability, “Got kicked out,” before stuffing them back into the warm pockets of Katsuki’s jacket.
Thankfully, Katsuki had turned away before his reaction gave his shock away. He knew Eijiro’s home life wasn’t the best, but this… No loving father would allow this to happen to his son, let alone cause it. Nothing that damn redhead could have done deserved this, and Katsuki knew that for a fact. He lifted his hands to reply, finding himself at a loss for words, then plopped them back into his lap with a sigh.
He began driving before Eijiro could get another word in, not wanting to argue with him over something so inevitable it was stupid to even think about. The low hum of the engine filled the silence— for Eijiro at least— as Katsuki pulled into his neighborhood. It was a quick drive back home that he was grateful for.
Eijiro, not so much. He counted the seconds until they made it into the Bakugo’s driveway so he could leap from the car and run away. To where? He had no clue, but at least he wouldn’t have to tell Katsuki what had happened to him, let alone face him. This wasn’t a problem the blonde needed to solve, and as much as Eijiro trusted him, he needed to deal with this on his own. He’s not just some stupid damsel in distress.
Distressed? Perhaps. But a damsel? He is the manliest of men.
He’s the manliest, and he’s sure of it.
Eijiro Kirishima is a man…
“My parents aren’t home right now, so you can get settled into my room without being bothered. I’ll let them know that you're staying the night.”
Eijiro had to force himself to look up from his feet, shaking his head when Katsuki finished signing. He refused to be a burden to Katsuki and the rest of the Bakugos. No, not when they’ve only ever showed him compassion and kindness when he would visit the household. They don’t deserve this, to be given a responsibility that isn’t meant for them. Especially when it was all his own fault.
His breathing became erratic, and suddenly the car was too hot. Katsuki was saying something else, but he wasn’t paying attention anymore, shooting a hand towards the door handle and pushing. A gust of cold air and borderline frozen water hit him, but Eijiro carried on in a panic, forcing himself from the warm confines of Katsuki’s safe car and jumping onto the driveway to make his escape.
One foot in front of the other. That’s what he kept trying to tell himself, but the wind was working overtime tonight, and his feet that had finally just began to warm up stung like needles digging into his soles. He shivered again, still cold despite Katsuki’s huge puffy jacket. Right… Katsuki’s jacket. Eijiro unzipped it and-
Katsuki grabbed him before he could manage to pull it off, pulling him back up the driveway and towards the front door, but not without a fight. Eijiro struggled, and struggled, and struggled, and even managed to free himself at one point, but the sharp pain in his left foot brought him to his knees, and Katsuki wrapped both arms around his torso and began pulling him towards the house that way.
Eijiro was strong, and heavy, and resilient. Katsuki was just downright stubborn though, and after a full minute of struggling to bring the redhead onto the porch and out of the rain, his patience was lost. “JUST LET ME HELP YOU EIJIRO,” he screamed while holding Eijiro’s wrists together, and without the help of his aids to regulate, it was loud. “Fuck! Let me, goddamnit! LET ME HELP YOU!”
It certainly stunned the redhead. Enough so that he stopped struggling and plopped down on the steps to watch Katsuki’s tears fall. Tears that he caused. The least he could do was what Katsuki told him to, but only for the night. One night wouldn’t hurt, and then he could figure it out in the morning and be out of their hair in no time.
Katsuki let go of his wrists then, wiping his face with the back of his hands with a few sniffles. “Why- What happened?” He signed.
“Nothing. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you-”
Katsuki grabbed Eijiro’s hands before he could finish that sentence, ashamed and embarrassed with red eyes. “We’re gonna go inside now. And when you warm up and get comfortable, you’re going to tell me what happened.”
That sounded like a damn nightmare. Eijiro hesitated to nod his head, but even so, he agreed. It wasn’t like he hadn’t already just lived through a nightmare. How could it get any worse than walking through the streets barefoot?
It couldn’t.
So he followed Katsuki inside without a fight this time. Warm air silenced his mind of any thoughts to change his mind and make a run for it, and he sighed upon the realization that Katsuki’s parents really weren’t home right now. No bombardment of questions. No pity party. No one to disappoint or worry, except for Katsuki of course, but they were past that already.
Now that Eijiro thought about it, a bath sounded kinda nice. So did some clothes that weren’t damped with cold water, and maybe even some slippers, but even some old socks would suffice at this point.
It was almost as if Katsuki had read his mind with the way he immediately led Eijiro into the bathroom and ran some water for the tub (after kicking off his wet shoes, of course). Eijiro stood there like an idiot— like the idiot he was, in Katsuki’s words— until the bath was done, sneezing and sniffling and wincing every time his weight shifted from one foot to another.
Katsuki took notice of that in no time, raising an eyebrow at one particular instance where Eijiro bared his teeth and grabbed a nearby counter from the pain. He finished preparing the bath, and as much as Eijiro wanted to just jump right into the warm water and soak off every speck of dirt, Katsuki knew they would both regret it if he didn’t figure out what was causing the pain.
“Sit,” the blonde signed before patting the counter behind Eijiro.
Eijiro obliged without a word, confused, but his eyes would have popped out of his skull had he not been so tired as he watched Katsuki sit down on a stool and grab his ankle, inspecting the sole of his foot like it was one of his math assignments.
He wanted to die right then, and that was saying something seeing as to how he was just walking through a snowstorm one hour prior to this. He waved his hands to get the blonde's attention before signing, “What are you doing?”
“You’re too strong for your own good, idiot. There’s pieces of glass in your feet.”
Oh…
It was a longer process than either would have liked, but it was necessary. Eijiro wasn’t even surprised at the news, more embarrassed than anything for being too stupid to put on shoes before getting tossed out of his own home. Each shard that Katsuki pulled out with tweezers was like another punch to the gut. It was actualisation that was hitting him, the fact that his own father had thrown him onto the street like an empty glass bottle.
It hurt more to think about than when Katsuki cleaned his wounds up with peroxide. At least the soothing warm water he had used afterwards eased up the burning sensation a little.
“You can get in the bath now. I’ll bring some clothes in a minute,” Katsuki signed.
Eijiro wasted no time to strip himself of his dirty, damp pajamas and jump into the tub (careful of his feet, or course). It felt like relief. A different type of relief than he was used to, at least. This felt like safety, and not just the safety of being locked in his room when his father was in a bad mood. This was real, true safety where the only thing he had to worry about was Katsuki seeing him naked in the tub while bringing him some clothes.
…ah shit.
A light knock was the only warning Eijiro got before Katsuki opened the door while a pile of folded clothes in his hands. The redhead brought his knees to his chest for some type of coverage, but even then, he was naked, and Katsuki was staring right at him like he wasn’t.
“I’ll be in the living room. Don’t fall asleep in the water, dumbass.” And with that, he was gone, leaving Eijiro wanting to do exactly what he was told not to.
Katsuki gently shut the door and headed to his room to change into clothes that weren’t soaked with rainwater, exhausted, confused, and slightly embarrassed for being ‘such a sensitive crybaby,’ as he had put it. He still couldn’t understand why Eijiro’s struggling had gotten him so worked up. Perhaps it was the frustration of it all, not knowing what was happening or why it was happening whilst trying to help his best friend out, only to be rejected by the redhead throwing a tantrum.
He shook his head and scrunched his nose up. There was no time to dwell on stupid shit when the house was beginning to cool down. (In reality, it was simply just Katsuki’s cold blooded self settling into the house’s temperature, and not liking the fact that it was a degree under his preference.) He stomped into the living room and switched on one of the lamps, dim, warm light illuminating the room enough for the blonde to make his way to the fireplace.
There were already a couple of decent logs on top of the grate, something Katsuki secretly thanked his dad for setting up before leaving “just in case.” Granted, he could have done it himself, but one less thing to do wasn’t something he would complain about. One less thing meant more time with Eijiro… to figure things out, of course!
A single match and some lighter fluid set the logs aflame, growing larger and larger as Katsuki began to set up the rest of the living room for him to sleep. By orders of his old hag, the couch was off limits when it came to sleeping, leaving Katsuki with nothing but a few blankets and the floor to work with. Sharing his room with Eijiro was off limits, at least for tonight, and he’d be damned if he let the redhead sleep on the floor when there was a perfectly good bed available.
He stacked blankets on top of blankets until it somewhat resembled a mattress, adding a few throw pillows from the couch, moreso to spite his mother than for his comfort, even if it would make it a bit easier to sit down. He plopped down on one of them and crossed his legs, slouching forward as he stared at the fire.
A tap on Katsuki’s shoulder brought him out of his head, and he turned to look at the redhead standing right behind him. His hair, clean and damp, stuck to the sides of his cheeks perfectly, framing his face in a way that made Katsuki’s face heat up. He was just glad though. Glad that Eijiro was safe now, warm and clean and clothed, even if it meant giving up his favorite sweatshirt and those perfect pair of padded socks for the night. Eijiro deserved them.
Eijiro waved, and nothing else. Of course, a small smile adorned his lips, and his eyes were bright and cheery as always, but what else was he supposed to say? He’d preferred to just shut up anyways, not wanting to upset Katsuki again. These clothes were much too comfortable to return yet, and the house was far too warm to leave… yet.
Katsuki waved back and patted the floor beside himself for Eijiro to sit. The redhead sat down closer than he was prepared for though, and suddenly the fire was too hot. He swept those thoughts aside for now though. Eijiro didn’t need to deal with his stupid gay problems when he had his own shit going on.
“Well?”
Eijiro pursed his lips and looked off to the side, the crackling fire illuminating most of his face and making Katsuki unable to look away. Even distraught, he was the handsomest guy in the world, and he didn’t even know it.
Katsuki poked the side of his head in an attempt to get his attention once again. It worked, but not without making Eijiro frown. “Are you going to tell me or not?”
It took a few moments, but Eijiro felt himself give in at last. He began with a long sigh, trying to draw out the seconds before he would inevitably have to tell Katsuki the most embarrassing story of his life. His hands shook though, the mere thought of Katsuki not being so accepting causing him to wrack his brain with any excuse or lie. Nothing came up though, and he was left with nothing but the stupid truth and the feeling of impending doom.
“My dad kicked me out earlier tonight…”
“That much is clear,” Katsuki replied before Eijiro could sign anything else, clearly a bit frustrated. “Why?”
“Because,” Eijiro began before dropping his hands into his lap to think of a good way to word it. A way that didn’t make him look so bad. “I was fed up with his comments about… certain things. I was so mad and I- It’s stupid. I wrote it down in big letters on a piece of paper and he flipped out. I didn’t have time to put on anything warmer than this. I was lucky enough to have grabbed a sweater.”
Katsuki stared at him with such attentiveness, the redhead was beginning to feel himself blush. “What did you write down?” The blonde’s hands moved fast; he was ready for the fucking answer before he even asked it.
“I’m gay.”
…oh.
Katsuki leaned back. He was almost… unsatisfied with the answer. All of this over Eijiro’s sexuality? Was it really that serious? At the same time, he was ecstatic. He had a chance, which was actually quite selfish to think about right now, but the very thought of the fact that— at least— Eijiro wouldn’t immediately judge him if he were to come out.
“Same,” he signed without thinking much of it, and Eijiro’s eyes went wide.
It was shocking, to say the least. Eijiro had never thought of Katsuki as someone who liked the same sex, let alone someone who liked anyone at all, but it actually made sense. All of those talks about girls and boobs and other gross stuff their friends would speak of wasn’t something either of them were interested in. Rather, they were interested in each other, not that these knuckleheads knew that yet.
“You like boys?” Eijiro huffed, and he couldn’t help it when a shocked and excited smile popped onto his face as if he hadn’t just had glass shards in his feet. “You like boys… romantically?”
Katsuki simply nodded that it was the most obvious thing in the world. (It was.) “Your dad kicked you out because you're gay? That’s dumb.”
Eijiro chuckled silently as always, his shoulders shaking. “Yea, it is kinda dumb,” he signed before tucking a piece of hair behind his ear. It was a common practice for him to do so when his hair wasn’t styled in its usual gelled up spikes, but that was only when he was alone. The one time his father had caught him doing so, he screamed for hours about how he shouldn’t be so feminine, and nearly cut the boy's hair off. In the end though, Eijiro was able to convince him otherwise and was sent to his room after 50 push ups and 100 sit ups.
The sudden memory had him fixing his hair back over his ears so it didn’t look so girly. Even if it was just Katsuki and him, and the blonde had already come out, he just couldn’t help the anxiety of getting caught being too feminine, or just not masculine enough. Just because Katsuki was gay, it didn’t mean he would be so accepting of such a thing. Sexuality and style were two different things, after all.
Katsuki loved how his hair had been the first time Eijiro fixed it though, tucked behind his ear and allowing more of his face to be shown. Now it was all messy and awkward, so he fixed it. With one hand on the floor propping himself up, he used his fingers to gently tuck his red locs right back behind Eijiro’s ear until it looked just as perfect as before. Katsuki’s touch lingered though, fingers barely brushing against the side of his face. It wasn’t often the blonde would be the one to initiate touches like this— Eijiro was an affectionate guy, always hugging and kissing his friends on the forehead playfully, and sitting much closer than necessary when there was plenty of room for more than two people to sit, just like right now— but this felt a tad more intimate than that, and Katsuki had to force his hand back into his lap before he lost control and caressed the boys cheek. It was almost as if Eijiro had chased his touch when he pulled back. It was so subtle though, only leaving him to speculate whether or not his head had moved a centimeter or two to follow the warmth of his fingers. In the end, he chose not to feed too much into it, but the thought was still there, even stronger than before now that he knew Eijiro was gay, that the boy might like him back.
“Stupid shitty hair,” he said, voice hoarse but understandable and sending a shiver up Eijiro’s spine. “S’ not so shitty now, I guess. You're still stupid though.”
Eijiro knew this. He was an idiot, always so cheery despite his situation and polite even when it was far from necessary. His father would call him worse though; things one wouldn’t imagine calling their worst enemy in many cases. To him, ‘stupid’ was simply a term of endearment, and he was sure Katsuki thought the same. He is stupid.
Maybe that’s why he was leaning in so close to the blonde. Well, closer than he already was. Katsuki was always complaining about him not respecting personal space, but still, the blonde never ever made the first move to make some room between the two. He was stupid to think that that meant something, because there was no way it did. There was no way Katsuki liked him romantically. It was stupid of him to think that he wouldn’t pull away the second Eijiro got too close.
Even so, despite all of this doubt, Eijiro continued his actions with little to no hesitation. His lips pressed against Katsuki’s quicker than he had anticipated, granted, he hadn’t thought he would make it this far at all. He hadn’t thought anything at all, actually, because the feeling of Katsuki’s soft lips pressing back against his own had stopped any coherent thought from forming inside his mind. And suddenly the house was too warm. His clothes were too hot. His cheeks were on fire, but Eijiro didn’t care. He would go to the sun if it meant kissing Katsuki for another second.
Katsuki pulled away slowly. So slowly that their lips still touched for a few moments, just barely, and they breathed in each other’s air for what felt like hours. Eijiro couldn’t bring himself to open his eyes until the blonde had fully pulled away, and even then it was difficult to reveal to himself the other’s reaction. After all, it was completely uncalled for and totally unexpected. Katsuki had never even given him the slightest hint that he felt the same. Still though, Eijiro had a feeling that, if never before, things would go right this time.
Katsuki put a fist over his mouth and cleared his throat, eyes darting anywhere that didn’t include Eijiro’s face. It shouldn’t have been so shocking to hear, and even Katsuki was surprised with himself for actually saying it, but it came out of his mouth just as suddenly as the kiss. “I like you too,” he grunted, trying not to sound so loud and in turn being a bit too quiet. But even if he couldn’t hear himself, Eijiro heard it clear as day. “Can we… again?”
He barely finished his question before Eijiro was attached to the blonde's lips again, cupping his cheeks and desperately pulling him closer. Katsuki’s eyes went wide at first, not expecting his request to have been taken so well, but he wasn’t complaining. He had only wished he had initiated something like this sooner, so maybe Eijiro wouldn’t have felt so bad about getting help.
He would make up for it though. Right here, right now, he would make Eijiro glad he decided to lean in and kiss him, as if he wasn’t ecstatic already. Katsuki pushed the redhead back with the smallest amount of force possible, leaning forward more and more until Eijiro was laying on the floor. He took his time with each and every movement, eventually caging him in and caressing his face with such delicacy, he had almost convinced himself Eijiro was glass. Eyes that had once been squeezed shut in focus softened, and his brows relaxed from Katsuki’s inability to even think.
If nothing else, this moment was perfect, and Eijiro wouldn’t have it any other way. Sure, his life was probably in shambles, and he would have to find another place to stay come morning, but it didn’t matter right now when the boy he had been head over heels for since the beginning of high school was kissing the life out of him, killing him so softly he couldn’t even feel it, nor did he care. Air was no longer a necessity when it came to a kiss like this.
All good things must come to an end though. It was something Eijiro had learned quite early into his life, yet he still hated it as a fact. Panic ensued at the sound of keys jingling on the other side of the front door, followed by the lock turning. He wouldn’t have counted on Katsuki to pull away before his parents walked in on them, but the realization that the blonde couldn’t hear a thing had Eijiro’s body moving on its own. He pushed him off as quick as possible, immediately regretting the amount of strength he’d used, but there was no time for apologies when Katsuki’s parents were finally through the door, staring at the two like deer in headlights.
Much to Katsuki’s dismay, Mitsuki was the first to react during the stare off. A simple, knowing smile as she shook her head had his ears embarrassingly burning bright red color. He stared up at her, glaring in a way that only Mitsuki could translate to ‘don’t say a word about it.’
“Are we interrupting something?” Masaru butted into the silence from behind his wife with a chuckle, shutting and locking the door while kicking off his shoes.
