Summary
From the day Brasso took him to see Clem’s stone on Rix Road, Cassian, who knew only then that his future was uncertain and grim, knew one thing about his fate for certain; He would never be a brick. To the vocal minority of Ferrix, the small handful of neighbors who insisted they would never accept him into the community, it would seem a rightful punishment for the crime of being born somewhere brighter.
