Chapter Text
Before Robin could act, he was forcefully pinned against a nearby tree by Sam. The cursed gargoyle's claws dug deep into Robin's shoulders which made him cry out in agony. He flailed around, kicking his feet about to hopefully wiggle himself out.
Kicking upwards, Robin managed to kick Sam in the jaw, stunning the gargoyle. Sam dropped Robin and clutched his jaw, groaning in pain. This was Robin's chance. Using his limited mobility, he skidded to the side and leapt onto Sam's back, wrapping his arms around the gargoyle's neck. Sam shook his head and tried to snap at Robin's limbs but was not at a good angle to do so. In response, the gargoyle took off into the air, the young wizard still clinging on. Sam thrashed about but Robin wouldn't budge.
An idea presented itself in Robin's mind; he didn't like it but it was what needed to be done. Taking in a deep but shaky breath, Robin concentrated his magic into his hands and placed them on Sam's wings. He let out a roar as his magic flowed into his electric light, the electricity flowing all over the cursed gargoyle's wings. Sam let out what only could be described as a mixture between a pained scream and a howl. The gargoyle plummeted towards the ground. Robin braced for impact as they crashed into the city's nature reserve.
The next few moments were a blur and Robin could hardly remember what happened. All he knew is that he was laying against the ground with dust and debris all around them. Weakly pushing himself into a sitting position, Robin glanced at everything. He had a bleeding gash on his arm and shoulders, his golden blood leaking out. Sam was also laying against the ground, looking a bit dazed but still in his cursed form. Robin let out a weak groan. Was there any way to win?
He didn't notice it at first but his hands were flowing with magic. It wasn't the magic he was using before, this one was different. It was a soft golden light, like gentle flowing water. It almost felt healing. Stumbling forward, Robin made his way over to his dazed friend. Sam pushed himself up and rested on his arms, looking over at Robin with a pained glare. He growled and flicked his tail angrily when Robin kneeled in front of him. Robin leaned forward and hugged Sam, wrapping his arms around his friend's neck. His action must've surprised Sam as he made no movement and seemed frozen in place.
Taking in a deep breath, Robin let his magic flow from him into Sam. He pushed as much magic through as he could, not wasting a single bit. Sam let out a screamed howl as the light blinded Robin.
