Work Text:

All Tony wanted was coffee, it was 8 in the morning and it was time for Peter to go to school. He would be driving Peter but he was still in comfortable clothing, nothing too flashy but nice. He didn't know what he expected to see but it wasn't that.

Peter Stark was in the kitchen on the floor staring at something. Walking closer "Petey why are you on the floor?" Going to the counter to get the coffee that is already prepared. "Daddy?" Peter says his bambi eyes pop up from the floor as he finally stands.

"Bambi?" Tony says in the same tone. Peter looks down at the floor again, pointing. Which is causing concern to Tony. "Why is it not moving?" He whispers like whatever he is pointing to could hear. Picking up his coffee, walking towards his son, "Why is what not moving?"

"T-the, the… I don't know what it's called daddy!" Peter said while he pouted just a little. Tony looked at where his son was pointing at and it was a spider. The reason why it wasn't moving was because it was likely dead. He didn't want to tell his son that but he didn't like lying to him either.

"Well it is a spider, it is also gone that's why it isn't moving." Peter tilted his head, seeming in deep thought. "Is he coming back?" Tony opened and closed his mouth a few times. "Petey-Pie the spider is dead. But the little spider went to a very good place where all spiders go when they're gone " Tony is pretty proud of the explanation.

That was until the light of his life decided to go back to the ground stomach on the floor. With cross hands in his shin.

Leaning in like it's a secret only the dead spider and Peter should know, "You're dead forever and ever and ever "although Peter whispered Tony was able to hear clearly. Peter didn't fully say dead correctly but it was clear what he was aiming for.

It was too early for this Tony decided.

"Okay thats enough of that little angel demon child, it's time for you to go to school." Picking Peter up from the floor away from the arachnid. Sending him on his way to get his backpack. Tony got a napkin and threw away the arachnid into the trash.

Peter ran back to his dad with his backpack on his back. Tony made his son scramble eggs and they head to the elevator 15 minutes later. Tony's coffee is drunk and Peter is ready for his day in kindergarten.

"Daddy can we get a puppy?" Peter head on tonys shoulders, and he is placed on his dad hip. "No but we can make a little bot like Dum-E if you want?" Tony can't take care of a animal. Peter let out an excited squeal nodding his head "Can we make a robot puppy? " Tony thought that was manageable.

The elevator door opened revealing the private garage. "I think that is a good compromise, we will get on it when it's the weekend, okay bud?" Peter hummed in agreement.

A few weeks later they had a robot dog named Karen.
