Kazuichi stared blankly at her teacher, resisting the urge to tap her pencil against her desk, or else she'll just receive multiple harsh words from her pigtailed classmate like last time. This is her first class of the day and it always bored her, but something else would keep her entertained till the bell chimed. Her girlfriend, Gundham, that sat just two rows in front of her and off to the right, a great view just for her, she thought.
Kazuichi still has no idea how she managed to swoon a girl like Gundham. In her opinion, she was completely out of a Gundham's league, she had no idea what Gundham saw in her. Gundham was more engulfed in the lesson, or at least, looked like it. She was leaned back in her seat a bit, arms crossed, and Kazuichi noticed her opened journal with a couple notes jotted down. She looked as beautiful as always, her hair pulled back into a slick ponytail and her bangs pulled out and styled to curl perfectly around her face, and she dressed in her usual black and layered attire.
Kazuichi smiled to herself as she admired her girlfriend. She'd love to tell Gundham how beautiful she is right now, to see Gundham's usually tense expression fall and a blush would spill across her face, but of course, they were in the middle of class.
However, an idea popped up in Kazuichi's head. She had her phone, and she was sure Gundham had hers...Why not?
This isn't the first time Kazuichi texted in class, and definitely wouldn't be the last. She waited till the teacher had her back to the students and pulled her phone from the pocket of her jumpsuit, she'd tried to hide behind the classmate in front of her as she brought up Gundham's contact and typed a message..
Heyy **
Just wanted to say you look really pretty **
today
Well you look pretty every day **
Yk what I mean **
Kazuichi finished up the last message and looked over at Gundham. Gundham looked a bit surprised by the sudden vibrations of her phone and pulled it out under her desk to see the notifications. A confused look appeared and she opened the messages, glancing between her phone and the teacher. Her face slowly changed from confusion to a small smile as she read the messages, Kazuichi's heart skipped a beat. Now what she didn't expect, is that Gundham began typing a message back.
** Thank you, my love. I always welcome your praise, although I must ask if it's necessary to do this in the midst of our teachings. Do you find yourself more bored than usual today?
Gundham's eyes darted towards Kazuichi playfully, she tilted up her journal a bit to hide her phone on her desk and wrote some notes as she awaited Kazuichi's response.
Kazuichi smiled widely to herself, but tried to contain her happiness, as she didn't wanna make it so obvious she wasn't paying attention in class.
You know I hate this class **
I think abt skipping it everyday **
But I dont cuz then I wouldnt see you **
Gundham watched the new messages appear, and with that her smile grew on her face as well. She shook her head and typed back
** Our paths cross many times throughout the day. We encounter each other before the commencement of our classes, and after the final bell tolls. You, my dark heart, have the privilege of my presence incessantly.
Kazuichi's eyes danced along the new message. She never understood how Gundham could type messages like this so quickly and without typos. She could sense the teasing tone in Gundham's message, and the loving nickname caused a slight blush on her face.
Yk you could skip with me one day **
We can hide in the bathroom or something **
Just talk **
Or makeout?? **
Kazuichi snickered to herself and watched Gundham's reaction to the last message. Now the two were both blushing. Gundham took a moment to compose herself and began typing again
** A tempting offer, yet I fear my mother would not approve of an excuse as bold as "I wished to partake in a bathroom kiss with my beloved"
** How does the idea of a quick kiss after class has concluded sound to you? A suitable expression of gratitude for the praise you gave me, I would say.
If Kazuichi wasn't in the middle of class, she'd be squealing and kicking her feet. Just as she was about to accept Gundham's offer, a loud voice spoke out to her. Her teacher's voice.
"Souda." The teacher said sternly "Do you intend on learning anything in my class today? It seems that phone is much more interesting."
Kazuichi froze and her classmates turned to her. She felt her face heat up at the sudden attention.
"I, uhm.." She stuttered "...sorry.."
Kazuichi glanced at Gundham, who gave her a worried look. Gundham looked between her and the teacher before raising her hand and speaking.
"I apologize as well. Kazuichi sought only to communicate to me. She wished to meet after class so I could offer my assistance with her school work."
The teacher seemed a bit puzzled by Gundham's response. She looked suspicious of the two and sighed.
"Asking for help from your classmate is completely fine Kazuichi, but please, wait until class is over." She walked over to Kazuichi's desk and extended her hand "However, I will be taking that. You can come back and grab it before leaving school today."
Kazuichi shyly smiled to the teacher and handed her phone over "It won't happen again. I promise."
The teacher was satisfied with this and went back to the front of the class and began speaking again. Some of the classmates snickered, but Kazuichi didn't care, she was just relieved that Gundham saved her butt.
A couple moments later, the classmate next to Kazuichi slid a tiny and neatly folded paper onto her desk.
"From Gundham.." The student whispered.
Kazuichi was a bit confused and opened up the paper. Inside was a simple message.
"We'll be skipping this class tomorrow."
