I am crime, I am punishment.
Sigma feels like she is floating. Not quite a void - there's definitely some sort of gravity present. But it's a vast space of nothing, with the same words echoing over and over again.
I am crime, I am punishment.
Sigma questions if this is how it feels to die. She never really thought about it. What happens once a life is over? Is an ability induced death the same thing as dying to natural causes? She's not sure. But this space feels foreign and cold and wrong. She's not welcome here, yet she can't escape, can't move.
"Enough lazing around, sleeping beauty", a new voice joins that causes her body to jolt. She knows that voice. It comes from far away, and she can't quite point to who or where. But it makes her heart flutter, a familiar feeling spreading through her chest.
There's a beam of light inside the void of darkness, quickly spreading faster. She suddenly becomes awfully aware of the feeling of her own weight, of gravity pulling her down to the ground and the pounding injury on her side. She forces her eyes open. The world floods her mind like a tidal wave, and she nearly forgets how to breathe.
"There you are! Gee, you scared me for a moment." Dazai's brown eyes rest on her, his brows slightly furrowed, holding her hand. Sigma blinks, not quite realizing what's going on. She touched Fyodor, and then--
A horrible headache spreads through her skull and she groans, reaching up her free hand to press against her temple.
"She's bleeding, are you blind? Move, idiot."
Sigma has trouble directing her attention to the other person approaching. "Chuuya-san", is all she manages to press out. Chuuya clicks his tongue, shoving Dazai to the side. Sigma's hand stays hovering into the air, while she's still not quite present.
"We need to get that patched up. Waste of bandages, you have extras, right?"
Dazai rolls his eyes. "Chibi is so demanding."
"Shut up."
Dazai fumbles with his pocket and digs out a new bandage. Chuuya promptly snatches it out of his fingers.
"Fyodor-", Sigma starts, her skull pounding, "Fyodor is-"
"-dealt with", Chuuya barks, but his face softens a little, "The rest can wait until we have this fixed up."
Dazai is sitting next to him, curiously watching Chuuya unroll the bandage. "Alright, I'm going to have to see that stab wound." Sigma still just stares at him, with her hand in the air the way Dazai held it. Chuuya scoffs and takes her hand.
Sigma is flashed with a polaroid of scenarios. A very deep, intense emotion that surges through her body like an electric shock, combined with things she's pretty sure she's not supposed to see. Chuuya's eyes widen and he quickly pulls his hand away. "The hell is wrong with you?!", he calls out. Sigma feels her face heat up. "I could ask you the same thing!"
And Dazai? Dazai has the audacity to laugh. So much, in fact, he's holding his stomach and kicking his feet.
"Not funny!", they both call out in unison, before they stare at each other, blushing, and looking to the opposite direction. "I knew you two would get along just fine", Dazai chirps, "Now be good, Sigma, and let little Chuchu strip you."
"What?!"
"Don't call me that!"
Dazai does not stop laughing. Chuuya grits his teeth and grabs the edge of Sigma's coat, but pauses there and looks up to catch her gaze. "Is this fine?" Sigma looks past Chuuya over to Dazai, who only signs her a thumbs up and winks at her. She quickly nods and looks away. Would Dazai do that? Ask Chuuya to treat Sigma with care, because he knows that Sigma isn't used to have a say in the matter? Is Chuuya acting on his own accord? Why does the feeling of his gloved fingers on her skin tingle so much?
She almost doesn't feel the pain anymore, suddenly being lightheaded. Chuuya wraps the wound up as best as he can, before he slowly pulls her coat back into place. "Just hold out a bit. We'll get you fixed up as soon as that stupid mackarel has called a ride out of here." Dazai taps his chin with two fingers. "I was supposed to do that?"
"Dazai!" Chuuya bares his teeth at him, his vampire teeth still glued on, and Dazai breaks out laughing again. "I should have actually shot him", he hisses and rises to his feet, "Come."
Sigma looks up to Chuuya, his hand outstretched. It hits her that for once, the valuable information she holds isn't priority. That Dazai held word and came back for her. That he'd get her out of here alive. She cautiously takes Chuuya's hand, and he effortlessly pulls her up, propping her arm over his shoulder to stabilize her. "Get over here", he calls Dazai.
Dazai sobers, clears his throat and gets up, trailing over to them with his hands in his pockets. "Chuuya didn't disappoint for once", he coos. Chuuya growls, but Sigma can see his ears redden, as does his face. "Wouldn't move a finger for you", he pouts. Dazai chuckles to himself and aligns on Sigma's other side, mirroring his partner.
Too late she realizes that he's eying her. Her, staring at Chuuya, that is. Sigma's eyes widen and her face burns. "What is it?", Dazai asks with a smirk. Sigma shyly glances over to Chuuya. He rolls his eyes and averts his gaze, obviously getting what this is about. "None of your business", he rescues her, "Let's get the hell out of here."
Dazai shrugs and they start making their way out. Sigmas heart is beating heavy inside her chest, the tumult of a wave of feelings swirling inside her, along with a massive amount of information. She really wants a mug of tea and a good night's sleep. And maybe, just maybe, both of these guys to stay at her side.
