Summary
“Are all pirates so grumpy?” Ironically, the words are spoken with a childish mumble. Despite himself, Dazai finally takes a seat and leans over his plate. He scrunches his nose at the slop but says nothing, and Chuuya rolls his eyes at his own fork. “I was going to say that I would like to become a part of your crew. Indefinitely.”
His fork slips. Screeches across the ceramic unpleasantly. A quick glance up to Dazai’s face brings a smile into view. It isn’t one that he trusts; It’s curled around the edges. “And why,” he starts slowly, eyes narrowing into thin slits, “should I ever let you?”

Pirate captain Chuuya is unlucky enough to discover a lunatic in his sails, rigged to hang himself at the drop of it. Dazai, the librarian exile and, apparently, the most irritating man to ever set foot upon his deck, implores him to take him in. Too short on hands and needing the key to a particular secret, Chuuya agrees. He's not thrilled about it.
