Work Text:
“kokoa… kokoa? it’s time to wake up.” hayate’s soft voice rang through the room. kokoa felt a kiss land on her forehead.
“hnn…” kokoa opened her eyes, and saw hayate’s face in front of hers. kokoa’s arms were still wrapped around hayate’s waist, holding her close.
“kokoa, it’s morning.” hayate held kokoa’s face in her hands.
“nuh-uh…” kokoa mumbled, slowly blinking her eyes, fighting off sleep.
“we have to get up, you said you wanted to go to the city today, right? you’re the one who said we should get up early.”
“mnn… that doesn’t matter.” kokoa grabbed hayate’s shirt she was wearing. “stay with me.. please?”
“kokoa, you know we have to go… you can’t just sleep all day.”
“c’mon, hayate, please? i’m tired… you’re too warm and cozy, i can’t get up…” kokoa closed her eyes.
“no, kokoa.. as much as i’d love to keep sleeping with you too, that’s not going to work on me now. we have to go.”
“just one more minute.. please? i’m so tired..”
“kokoa, we really have to go. believe me, i really would love to have more time to sleep together, too. but we have to get up.”
“you meanie..” kokoa’s grip on hayate’s shirt tightened. “i’m not gonna get up now, y’know..”
“fine, then. maybe i’ll get up myself, go without you,” hayate replied, sitting up now.
“wh-what?! you wouldn’t! hayate!” kokoa was clearly awake now, yet still holding onto hayate’s shirt.
hayate giggled, “you’re right, kokoa, i wouldn’t. what would i be able to do without my wonderful girlfriend with me anyway? that would be too boring.”
“hayate..” kokoa wrapped her arms around hayate now, and pulled her down onto the bed to be laying next to her. she pulled her in for a tight hug.
“kokoa, we have to go… this isn’t going to work. i’m tired too, but we can’t lay in bed all day. i’ll make us some coffee, how does that sound? please, kokoa.”
“mm, yes we can. i won’t get up, i refuse.” kokoa pouted.
hayate turned her head to face kokoa, and kissed her. “i want to stay with you too, kokoa. but we want to go on this date, right? we’ll only make it if we leave soon.”
“d-date?! who said it was a date?!” kokoa quickly asked, alert again.
“i thought that’s what it was, is it not? do you not want me to call it that? do you.. not want to go on a date with me?”
“shut up! that’s not what i mean, you know that!”
“let’s go get ready for our date, then. we can make breakfast together, if you’d like.”
“mmh, fine. you’re so unfair, hayate! we both know you’d mess up the food one way or another if i didn’t help!” kokoa let go of hayate now, and hayate got up from the bed. kokoa shortly followed and did the same.
hayate took kokoa’s hand into hers. “then it’s perfect that i have you here, right? come on, we don’t want to take too long.”
