Chapter Text
It all started when Alhaitham came home to an oddly silent house one evening. The house was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and so still that It was hard to tell if anyone else was home. Kaveh wasn’t sorting through papers or in the kitchen getting a late night snack like normal; there was just silence. Alhaitham noted that the office door was open, and so he decided to investigate. Inside the office, there were blueprints and sketches of architectural projects scattered all across the desk and floor. Alhaitham sighed in disappointment and quietly made his way over to Kaveh's room to scold him for making a mess of his office and not cleaning up. He creaked open the door, but to his surprise Kaveh was passed out on his bed. After a few seconds of staring at the blond, He gently closed the door and decided that he should probably let Kaveh sleep after all. He could see the eyebags under Kaveh’s eyes and he knew it was best if he didn’t impact Kaveh’s health. He had been quite hard at work on his recent projects at the moment, and he needed his rest. It was taking a toll on Kaveh, So Alhaitham went to clean up the documents for him.
The next morning everything went on as normal. Alhaitham woke up early to get a head start, grabbed a pastry from a local bakery and headed off to work. Once lunch time had come he had to leave to stop home and grab his favorite book, because he had forgotten it this morning. which doesn't happen often. As he took his shoes off by the door he noticed that Kavehs shoes were still there. That was odd. He looked around to see if Kaveh Was home for lunch as well, but he couldn't find Him anywhere. It was like the house hadn’t been touched since last night. Alhaitham started to worry because this wasn’t like Kaveh at all. Did he sleep in? What was going on? Alhaitham quickly made his way to Kavehs room. He knocked on the door, with no response he quickly opened it. Kaveh was a total mess. His hair was really messed up, his face was red and he was drenched in sweat. He was asleep on top of his bed, but he didn’t look comfortable. Alhaitham placed his hand on Kavehs forehead and pulled it away quickly because it was so incredibly hot. Kaveh slowly started to stir, and Alhaitham helped him sit upright.
“Hey, are you okay?” Alhaitham said While staring at Kaveh
“Yeah I’m fantastic if you couldn’t tell!” Kaveh stated sarcastically in a very hoarse voice. “No idiot, I'm sick.” Kaveh changed his tone of voice then laid down again and turned away from Alhaitham.
“Do you want me to get you a glass of water?” Alhaitham offered. There were a few moments of silence followed by a groggy,
“Yeah.”
After Alhaitham grabbed the water for Kaveh he went straight to the clinic to grab a doctor to check out Kaveh to see if anything was seriously wrong. Thankfully after taking a look the Doctor said that Kaveh probably just has a cold, and that Alhaitham should probably keep an eye on him to see if his symptoms get worse. Alhaitham had to go back to work to let everyone know he was going to be out for a bit because He had to take care of Kaveh. Thankfully everyone was kind and understanding, so he was able to take off for a bit. He stopped by a nearby market to pick up some ingredients so he could make soup for Kaveh. He doesn’t like soup, however he knew that Kaveh did. This was a one time thing obviously, Alhaitham wouldn’t be caught dead making soup for Kaveh if he was well. Alhaitham was a fairly good chef to say the least, when he was younger he made dinner for himself often, so he knew his way around the kitchen.
When he returned home again there was a loud crash that seemed to come from the bathroom. Alhaitham quickly placed the bag of ingredients on the table and rushed over to see if everything was alright. The bathroom door was closed so he knocked on it. “Kaveh, is everything okay?” There were a few seconds of silence. It sounded like Kaveh was struggling from the other side of the door, but he spoke No response. Alhaitham asked again. “Kaveh, are you okay?” with no response for a second time Alhaitham grabbed the door handle and began to open the door but just as he did Kaveh screamed out.
“WAIT! DON’T COME IN” Alhaitham Paused opening the door. Alhaitham blushed and looked away at what he just saw.
“Why? What’s going on?” He pretended to act oblivious although he had clearly seen well… everything. Kaveh was just sprawled out on the floor. Naked. It looked like he had tripped and was just laying there or something.
“I slipped while getting out of the shower but my body is too weak to get up. I tried. Maybe I’ll just stay here forever.” Kaveh groaned. “And no, you may not help me get up because I’m literally butt naked right now.” Kaveh sighed.
“Well you most certainly can’t stay there forever, and why would you try to take a shower? You’re clearly not stable.” Alhaitham argued.
“I just felt really sticky hot and gross So I wanted to cool off a little bit.” Kaveh wined
“You could have waited for me, you idiot.” Alhaitham sighed.
“I’m not letting you help me take a shower.” Kaveh exclaimed, embarrassed.
“You can barely even stand up straight, how did you even make it to the shower in the first place?” Alhaitham asked.
“I teleported there. NO IDIOT I WALKED.” Kaveh yelled. Kaveh aggressively groaned at Alhaitham. “You know what I give up. If I stay in this bathroom for another 10 seconds I think I might just pass out on the floor.”
“Grab a towel and cover yourself with it.” Alhaitham sighed. Kaveh struggled for a few seconds.
“I can’t reach. I’m literally melting.” Kaveh said dramatically.
“Kaveh if you don’t grab a towel I’m making my way in there whether you like it or not.” Alhaitham threatened.
“Fine, okay.” Kaveh managed to grab the towel by grabbing it from the bottom and dropping it on himself. “There, happy?” Kaveh sounded really breathless now, he really was struggling to keep awake. Alhaitham opened the door all the way And scooped up a soaking wet Kaveh and leaned him up against the wall. He grabbed another towel and started to dry Kaveh’s hair with it.
“You’re so incredibly careless you know? What if I didn’t live with you, what would you do in that situation?” Alhatham asked.
“I don’t know, I'd probably lay there till I felt okay.” Kaveh answered with a subtle shrug. He started to feel incredibly dizzy. “I’m tired.” Kavehs vision was starting to blur and he reached out for absolutely anything to keep him stable. His hand landed in Alhaithams perfectly styled hair and messed it up accidentally. “Your hair is so soft.” Kaveh was on the verge of passing out, and Alhaitham could tell.
“Here, let's try to stand up, can you?” Kaveh was staring into space at this point.
All the sudden Kaveh gags, followed by a,
“I think I’m going to be sick.”
“What?” Alhaitham says, startled.
Kaveh then proceeds to vomit all over himself, and Alhaitham.
...
“You’re lucky I care about you, or else you would be dead meat right now.” Alhaitham whispered under his breath.
