Nestled under the blankets
After soaking for a whole hour in the bath, Jaehyuk and Yeonoh decided it was time to get out. Or rather, Jaehyuk decided so, because Yeonoh had been softly snoring for the last ten minutes. He carried his boyfriend out of the bathtub, making the shorter man shiver and snuggle against him as his wet body came into contact with the air.
“Too cold…” Yeonoh murmured, his brows furrowing slightly.
Jaehyuk chuckled, it was just adorable. With time, he had had to recognise he was weak to anything that involved the actor, and that was including his annoying younger brother. Which, if you asked him, really proved the love he had for Yeonoh.
He grabbed some towels and crossed the apartment until he reached their bedroom. It was incredibly romantic, walking through the candle lit corridor with Yeonoh in his arms.
His apartment had never felt so cosy, until he moved in with him. Now there were multicoloured pyjamas laying around in his bedroom, cute little plushies stashed away at unexpected corners, a few more plants, and best for last, it had Yeonoh. He had not realised, but his boyfriend had already started making the place his own, and he loved it. Maybe the cute stuff was a bit much for him, but if it made his lover happy, so be it.
The way Yeonoh had decorated the bathroom was quite nice, so he was looking forward to see what he would do with the rest of the cold empty place.
He sat on a corner of the bed, setting Yeonoh down on his lap. He had to dry him as much as possible before they could get under the blankets. His boyfriend squirmed in his arms, shivering, and frowning.
“Sorry.” He whispered as he kissed his temple. “I’m almost done.”
“I'm cold.” Yeonoh whined, half asleep.
The actor snuggled against him in search of some warmth. Jaehyuk picked up his pace, drying as much skin as he could before, carrying his boyfriend and letting him down slowly on the mattress. Yeonoh grabbed a pillow right away and his boyfriend put the blanket over him. Smiling tenderly at the sleeping man. He was walking away from the bed when he heard a complaint.
“I want to cuddle.” Yeonoh sleepily said, eyes half-closed and an arm extended towards him. It took everything Jaehyuk had for him to not pounce on his lover and leave fluttering kisses all over his face.
“I need to put out the candles before we go to sleep.” He explained. “But I’ll be right back.”
“Oh ok.” Yeonoh blinked. “Hurry , please.”
“I will.” He chuckled.
He made a round of the apartment, making sure every candle was out before he joined his boyfriend in bed. Yeonoh was buried under the blankets when he slid next to him. He was expecting him to be asleep, but a pale arm immediately slipped across his chest and his lover snuggled against him.
“I’m so cold.” Yeonoh complained as he rested his head against his chest.
“Come closer, then.” Jaehyuk smiled as he pulled him in.
Yeonoh sighed in contentment and started gently caressing his calf with his foot. Meanwhile, Jaehyuk was stroking his nape, breathing in his scent.
These moments were Jaehyuk's absolute favourites. Feeling the warmth of the one he loved in his arms, their bodies intertwined as they slowly drifted off to sleep. He was usually the most sensitive to the cold, so it was mostly him that initiated the cuddle sessions, using Yeonoh as his personal heating pad. But every once in a while, his lover would be the one clinging on to him first, in search of some warmth. And those times were always greatly appreciated.
However, when it came to tenderness and showing affection in general, Yeonoh had a head start. Ever since they had officially become a couple, Yeonoh would indulge in the skinship or request it from him, while acting coy. Knowing very well that Jaehyuk could never refuse him. The little giggles he got every time he kissed his neck or forehead, was enough to make his whole week.
He slipped a kiss on Yeonoh’s temple, his scent invading his lungs and soothing him.
It was weird, but Yeonoh made him happy with just his presence. His heart was filled to the brim with affection and he sometimes found himself daydreaming about going abroad, getting married, sending his brother off to college together and celebrating the holidays the three of them like a real family. A desire he thought he would never have again after losing his mother.
“She would have adored you.” He softly whispered to his sleeping boyfriend.
And in fact, she had been the one to introduce them, all those years ago. It was a last gift, a last favour she did him, to make sure he could have a happy family of his own again, someday.
“Thank you, mom.” He said as he glanced outside at the night sky, his throat constricting.
Yeonoh shifted in his sleep and nuzzled his nose against his chest, holding him tighter but never waking up. Jaehyuk let himself melt into the embrace. He caressed the soft neck, and hummed in contentment, he felt good right there, nestled under the blankets with the man he loved.
These were memories he would keep, for the rest of his life.
