false god

Summary:

katsuki didn’t really know what to think about the situation. he was currently on a long term mission for his agency. one that he agreed to, not that he really got much of a choice in the matter. he was stationed on the other side of the country, far away from the one thing that gave his life excitement. he didn’t think that being away from shouto would be so bad, it’s not like they were dating or anything, but it seemed as though he couldn’t go through his daily life without being reminded of the other.

Work Text:

katsuki didn’t really know what to think about the situation. he was currently on a long term mission for his agency. one that he agreed to, not that he really got much of a choice in the matter. he was stationed on the other side of the country, far away from the one thing that gave his life excitement. he didn’t think that being away from shouto would be so bad, it’s not like they were dating or anything, but it seemed as though he couldn’t go through his daily life without being reminded of the other.

“there was a great villain attack a couple hours from here, did you here about it?” some random person said in the agency break room, just a couple feet from katsuki. he couldn’t help but listen, not like he had anyway not to, they were talking quite loud.

“yeah! that hero shouto practically saved the whole day. the videos online are awesome.” oh, so it was shouto who ‘saved the day.’ of course that bastard came in at just the right time, katsuki thought. he seemed to noticed that shouto had some unknown talent about being at the right place at the right time.

his mind gets clouded with a memory. katsuki had a particularly shitty day on patrol. he was very angrily making dinner when he heard a knock on the door. he was grumbling about who the fuck would show up now as he opened the door and saw shouto standing there with take out and a grocery bag full of treats that katsuki had talked about liking before. of course he came, somehow knowing about the day that katsuki had.

the food taken out of the fridge was later put away by shouto himself after katsuki had fallen asleep in his bed. they spent the night eating, katsuki making shouto eat the sweets because something about corrupting shouto just made katsuki so pleased with himself.

or maybe it was when he was getting groceries and saw a magazine with shouto and that stupid windy bitch on the cover of it with people speculating that they were together. katsuki picked up flipped through for a second out of anger and then put it back with the back side facing out so others wont see it.

it made him remember the times when they would go out to expensive restaurants and katsuki always paid, even after telling shouto that he could pay. it made him feel good, spoiling shouto. the nights would always end in a similar way. katsuki soon realized that shouto probably wanted to say thank you in a way that katsuki would accept since he never let shouto say the words thank you. katsuki enjoyed it anyway, and he knew shouto did too. his eyes focused on some random part of the street as his mind flashed with the images of them tangled together in bed, warm bodies colliding as katsuki held shouto’s hips tight enough to leave marks that he was always proud of in the morning. the feeling of shouto moving himself up and down on katsuki was enough to arouse katsuki even outside the grocery store, miles away from shouto. once he get back to his new apartment, he considered calling the other as he tried to pleasure himself the way shouto used to, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

it also could of been when he saw a couple giving each other their goodbyes, tears streaming down both of their faces, mixing together as they kissed. he thought of when shouto brought him to the airport. it looked like shouto was upset, very upset. the look in his usually unbothered eyes made him look heartbroken. at the time katsuki thought nothing about it, but thinking back, the look shouto had matched the ones the couple had. right before he left, after saying goodbye, it seemed like shouto wanted to say something, but couldn’t bring himself to do so. katsuki wondered what he wanted to say.

the final catalyst was when he had a nightmare, a particularly bad one. he woke up panting, and he was disoriented. he reached for his phone and called the first one who came to mind, before even thinking. as it rang he woke up a bit more, realizing what he just did, but before he could get himself together he heard a sleep voice answer the phone.

“hello?” it was shouto. he was probably too tired to even see who the caller was. that or he deleted katsuki’s contact.

katsuki hung up the phone. he then started crying. he didn’t realize how much he missed shouto’s voice until this night. how much he missed shouto as a whole. how he needed him in his life. how he loved him and he always had. he cried until his eyes were puffy and his pillow was soaking wet.

that morning he went into the office and spoke to his higher up. he demanded that he get sent back to where he was before. the boss must of known that something had happened because, to be honest, katsuki looked like shit. eyes red and swollen, hair a mess, and he was still wearing his worn out sleep clothes. so the man agreed, and katsuki denied his offer to be put on a flight a week from now, and katsuki left. he packed all his things into his suitcase and booked a ticket for that same day. it was unreasonably expensive, but it was worth it.

as he finally touched down in the city he was meant to be in, his heart started to race thinking about shouto. as he was in the taxi, he started to wonder if shouto felt the same. they never talked about feelings, but katsuki knew how he felt now.

he stood outside shouto’s apartment door for way too long to be appropriate. thinking about shouto’s feelings, or if he ruined things by leaving and shouto found someone else, or if shouto would even be home, but he was bakugou katsuki, so he knocked on the door.

shouto answered it after a second, with all his beauty that katsuki couldn’t forget about even if he tried, even if he was dead. shouto looked obviously surprised by seeing katsuki, but before shouto could fully ask what katsuki was doing there, katsuki kissed him. he kissed him hard, and until they were both out of breath. he kissed him so intensely and with so much passion running through he didn’t know if shouto kissed him back.

“i’m sorry. i was a fucking idiot. i shouldn’t of left, ever. i don’t ever want to be without out because i need you, and i love you. i would die for this love i have for you. so i’m here and you can have me if you want me.” he spoke so fast he was almost out of breath. he was anxious, waiting for a reply from the man with a shocked look on his face. too much time passed for katsuki to be comfortable, but then shouto finally did something.

“you are an idiot.”

“what?”

“i love you. i have for a long time. i didn’t want you to go and it was awful here without you.” shouto then pulled katsuki inside and kissed him for all he was worth. “and yes, i do want you, but you’re never allowed to do that again.”

they spent the rest of the night together in shouto’s bed which quickly turned into their bed. they cuddled and made love, and katsuki told shouto how he will never leave again. and katsuki was the happiest he had been in his whole life.
