“Out of the… twenty three shots you made today, you hit twelve of them dead centre, four just slightly off centre, six on the second ring, and one miss.” Mafuyu hummed, putting her bow back where it belonged as she turned to Shizuku. “So for almost every two shots you were at least hitting the target in the middle. That’s an improvement.”
Shizuku smiled at her girlfriend - trust Mafuyu to pick up on something like that.
“I suppose I have you to thank for that. Your advice has been helpful.” She beamed, putting her own bow alongside Mafuyu’s.
“What can I say? I’ve been studying up on it to help with your technique.” Shizuku got one of Mafuyu’s rare smiles as the corners of her lips twitched up.
“I appreciate the support~” Shizuku teased lightly - she felt like she could, it was only the two of them left in the club storage room. Everyone else had long since gone home.
Their relationship wasn’t exactly a secret - their friends knew, of course. Shizuku could hardly contain herself! Someone had to know and - well, Mizuki could be very persuasive when they wanted to be. Mafuyu stood no chance.
The pair only really kept their relationship somewhat hidden from their other peers at school. It didn’t even seem like they were friends to those around them, just casual acquaintances who happened to be in the same club.
To those around them, they were simply ‘Asahina-San’ and ‘Hinomori-San’
But to each other? They really were every sickly sweet pet name under the sun.
Shizuku hummed to herself, taking a step towards Mafuyu; who had since turned around to ensure her bow was stored correctly. Her arms wrapped around her girlfriends waist, pulling her in close as she nuzzled her face into the crook of Mafuyu’s neck.
She felt Mafuyu relax into her hold; giving her the all clear to press a soft kiss to the side of her neck.
“I missed you today, bunny~” She mumbled against the skin, nuzzling her nose against it. She loved the way Mafuyu smelled - that weird mix of coconut and apricots. It put her at ease whenever she smelled it; even if it was just passing Mafuyu in the corridor.
“Ah. I missed you too.” Mafuyu shifted, turning around in Shizuku’s loose hold to face her. “Are we still on for Saturday? I told my mother I was tutoring Hoshino-San again.”
“Mmm… I believe so.” Shizuku beamed. They had a date on Saturday - a new exhibition had just opened up at the local aquarium and Mafuyu had been going on and on about it for weeks about how she wanted to go. How could Shizuku even begin to think to say no to such a request?
“Good.” Mafuyu’s eyes lit up slightly - she was happy, though more so on the inside than the outside. She brought her hands up, cupping at Shizuku’s cheeks to pull her down a little into a soft and sweet kiss.
Shizuku’s cheeks flushed red - they always did when Mafuyu got affectionate with her. It was still so unfamiliar even after months of dating.
“I… Should get going soon.” Mafuyu said with a soft sigh, eyebrows knitting together slightly. “I wouldn’t want to keep my mother waiting.” Her hands left Shizuku’s cheeks, arms loosely draping around the tallers neck.
Shizuku pouted, tightening her hold on Mafuyu slightly. “So soon?”
“Mhm. You know how she gets.” She shook her head a bit, though made no effort to pull away from the embrace. “… But I suppose five more minutes wouldn’t hurt. I’ll just walk quicker.”
“… Five minutes is a long time.” Now it was Shizuku’s turn to cup Mafuyu’s cheeks; thumbs brushing across the smooth skin. “I intend to make every second count.” She punctuated her sentence by kissing Mafuyu; quickly.
“Oh?” Mafuyu bit the inside of her cheek, fighting back a grin.
“Mhm~” A small smirk spread to her lips, one that made Mafuyu’s legs feel a little weak - thank god Shizuku was holding onto her. “That’s enough time to make out with you, isn’t it?”
“I… Suppose if you’re quick, then yes.” The tips of Mafuyu’s ears went red, only covered slightly by a few strands of hair.
“Good.” Another kiss. “Keep track of the time, then.”
