    Tav had been gone for hours, collecting supplies for their trek into the underdark. Astarion was restless, wondering what took her so long, and wondering if she actually planned to come back.
    His ear twitched and he stilled, listening for the sound he hadn’t quite registered. There was some muffled scraping sound followed by a quiet thud. It could be people in the nearby tavern, rising from their chairs and stumbling off. But then he smelled blood - Tav’s blood.
