Baking pies

Heesung had thought the idea was great, when Yoongu suggested they bake pies. Because, what is more domestic than cooking together? He had imagined them playing around, throwing flour at each other and seductively eating apple slices from the other’s hand.

But the truth couldn’t be further from it.

First of all, the weather was awful, the sky was covered by dark clouds letting them know a storm was brewing. This was far from the romantic autumn colours that made you want to snuggle together next to the fireplace. This made you want to go hide inside a bunker.

Second of all, it wasn’t an apple pie they were baking but a pumpkin pie. And Heesung understood that the squashes were sort of the stars of the season, but seeing how it looked on the internet, made him think it definitely wouldn’t be as tasty as an apple pie.

And lastly, Yoongu was way too serious about the whole thing. The actor was the type to go with the flow and if he didn’t feel like adding exactly 150 g of sugar, he wasn’t going to. Yoongu was the opposite. Not following instructions to a tee, was blasphemous and he had been scandalised when Heesung had suggested using less butter. Followed, a whole speech about how it had taken him hours to find the right recipe that respected both their diets while also preserving the authentic taste of a homemade pumpkin pie. He had then started talking about the chemistry of the ingredients and how not respecting one measure could break the balance of the taste and the texture.

Heesung had dozed off somewhere around the middle of the speech, too focused on his boyfriend’s deliciously pouty lips, to hear what they were saying. In the end, he had let Yoongu do as he wished, he didn’t care for pumpkin pies anyway, he cared more about his boyfriend being happy.

But seeing how he was frowning and muttering angrily to himself, he didn’t seem to be having that good of a time. Heesung was still having a blast tho, there was something so adorable about Yoongu getting annoyed and sulking. He had great determination for everything he put his mind into, but man was he impatient!

“Is something wrong?” He asked the athlete as he glared at the oven.

“No, I'm just checking to see which plate is right in the middle.”

Heesung had to fight with himself to not tease him. He indicated the right one and his boyfriend carefully put the unbaked pie on it.

“Now we have to wait.” He said, still glaring at the oven.

“You know, you don't have to stay here and watch the oven. They made something really useful called a timer.” He chuckled.

“I need to turn the heat down after 10 minutes.”

“Not a problem for the timer.”

“But maybe your oven’s 200°c isn’t the same as the one they used to write the recipe down.”

“My oven is high-end.” Heesung bragged.

“Maybe theirs wasn’t.” He said. “So I’ll put the timer on and stay in the kitchen, so I can check on it regularly.”

“Whatever.” Heesung pouted.

All his dreams of a romantic baking session were definitely crushed.

“If you’re going to stay here, help me do the dishes.”

“Ugh… You’re never romantic with me. “He said dramatically.

“But I’m baking you a pie!” Yoongu blushed. “That’s romantic.”

“It is?” He asked, a grin breaking into his face.

He was failing to see what was romantic about it. But knowing that Yoongu had been trying, made him happy.

“Well, yes…” He hesitated. “I think there’s nothing more romantic than sharing food. Especially since we’re both on diets most of the time.”

Heesung himself swoon with how adorable Yoongu was. This was why he was so adamant on not making any mistake, because he was doing it for him. He took his boyfriend in his arms and kissed him.

“You’re right, it is romantic.” He grinned down at the flushed face of his lover.

“I’m not the best at showing that I care.” Yoongu sighed.

“That’s not true.” He squeezed him tightly. “I’m the one that doesn’t see the efforts you make sometimes.”

“You’re always understanding of me being inexperienced and clueless. So I try to be more attentive to what you want too.” The athlete explained, making his heart melt even more.

Yoongu was so cute, he wanted to eat him up. He hadn’t known he was worried about not showing enough affection and tried to make up for it. But it meant so much to him, to know he had been putting so much effort in their relationship.

“All I want is you.” He grinned. “Thank you for making so much effort to show me how you feel. I appreciate it more than you can imagine.”

The timer rang and Yoongu turned the heat down on the oven. He then faced him with a smile.

“We have forty minutes.” He said. “Why don’t you show me what you consider romantic?”

Heesung beamed, he just loved his little potato. He lifted him up and sat him down on the counter, settling between his legs. Yoongu wrapped his arms and legs around him, holding him as close as possible. The actor couldn’t be more pleased. He sucked on his boyfriend’s lower lip, making him chuckle. He let the soft plump lip go with a pop before kissing him passionately.

They separated to catch their breath back and Heesung took advantage of that to dip his fingers in the flour and leave little spots of powder all over Yoongu’, forearms, neck and face.

“What are you doing?” Yoongu sighed. “You’re such a baby.”

“I prefer to do it with chocolate or whipped cream, but as long as it’s edible, it works.” He smirked.

His boyfriend stared at him, dumbfounded, as he started licking and kissing the spots on his arms. He slowly made his way up both arms, then moved to his neck, until he finally reached his face. By that time, Yoongu was beet red and shivering under his kisses. A reaction that immensely satisfied the actor.

He latched onto the soft lips again, the small hands of his boyfriend clutching the front of his sweater spurring him on. They were both hot and bothered, gasping for air when the timer rang a second time.

Heesung took the pie out and put it on the counter to cool off. He then went back to his boyfriend, who immediately wrapped himself around him.

“We have time before it cools off.” He whispered in his ear.

Heesung did not lose a second. Grinning from ear to ear, he carried his boyfriend to the bed. He was too hungry for the muscular but lean body, to watch his manners. He pounced on him immediately and Yoongu’s skin felt burning hot against his own. The sweet scent of the pumpkin spices he had used to bake, lingered around him, making him all the more appetising. The smaller body flushed under all the attention he gave it, with hands gripping his hair and toes curling. His boyfriend tried his best to keep his moans down by biting down on his own lip. He thought it was cute how Yoongu was still shy about making noises, however, he would prefer it if he could hear how much he was enjoying himself. It would be the best reward for a job well done, in his eyes. But he could tell, by the way he grabbed, kissed and looked at him, that he was enjoying the intimate moment they were sharing.

Yoongu switched their positions so that he could take the lead, and show Heesung what he wanted. The actor blissfully let himself be led, losing his head over every little movement and touch. They abandoned themselves to the passionate embrace, until they were both too exhausted to move and the pie was cold.

“Ugh, that’s disgusting.” Yoongu made a face after eating a spoonful of the pie.

They were in bed, Heesung had just come back from getting them both a slice of the pie, and now they were tasting it.

“Let’s just make an apple pie next time.” The athlete added, as he shuddered after taking another bite, making the blanket he had wrapped around his shoulders slip down a little.

“I like it.” Heesung grinned.

He didn’t, but since Yoongu had made it for him, he’d be caught dead before he left a single crumb of it. The view he had of his naked boyfriend wrapped in the sheets as he ate, was pleasing to say the least. So he really felt great about himself, right about now.

“But yeah, let’s make apple pie next time.” He added, his smile looking more like a rictus after his next spoonful.

Yoongu chuckled at that. “I’ll give it to the guys at the gym tomorrow.”

“No, don’t. I’ll eat it all, it’s mine.”

“You don’t have too, you big dummy!” Yoongu said, half-amused, half-exasperated.

“I told you, I like it.” Heesung insisted.

“Fine, do whatever you want.” Yoongu rolled his eyes at him.

But two seconds later, the athlete shuffled on the bed, to close the gap between them. Heesung had his arms wide open before he even reached him, and Yoongu comfortably settled in his lap, resting his head against his chest. He planted a kiss on the top of his head, the smile on his face so wide it was hurting his cheeks.

“I like you a lot.” Were the soft words whispered against his chest.

“I like you a lot too.” He answered back, with a chuckle.

For as long as he could remember, Heesung had desperately looked for someone to love and cherish, and now he had found it, in the most unexpected place. In someone so different from what he had imagined, it was comical, but at the same time, more amazing and lovely than he could have ever hoped for. It felt too good to be true, at times. But the weight pressing down on his body and the warmth that spread to him as Yoongu held him close, confirmed it was all real.

Heesung was convinced no man on earth was as happy as him right now.
