"You don't have me yet."
"Don't I? You're here. And I don't think you want to talk. I think you want to be known. To be tasted." Astarion said seductively as his hand just so slightly and from the distance ran over your whole body.
"And what do you want?" You finally asked, so far this whole conversation and the one before you went away from the camp was all about your wants, your needs. But throughout it you realized that even despite the fact that Astarion did ask you out for the night he never expressed any kind of his own desires.
"What do any of us want? Pleasure. Yours. Mine. Our collective ecstasy. That's what you want isn't it? To lose yourself in me?" The vampire once again turned the topic of the conversation to your desires, avoiding the question.
Although despite the dim light given by the reflection in the moon you could notice a small change on Astarion's face. For just a few second his expression showed disgust that changed into once again a smile. A fake one, waiting for the confirmation of what he assumed you wanted and what he wanted you to desired.
"Why are you doing this?" You confronted him as you asked firmly knowing that it was some form of acting that Astarion was doing but you had no idea why would he act if he wasn't interested in you at all.
"What do you mean 'why?' I only want to have fun, give you pleasure that you so desire." Astarion tried to defend himself becoming slightly frustrated upon realising that you've noticed a brief moment when he stopped acting.
"I don't believe a word you say." You said firmly looking carefully at Astarion's body language. He backed away a little putting more distance between the two of you, his stance shifted a little and this body slightly tensed up as his breathing sped up. From time to time he quickly looked over your shoulder to make sure exactly how far away from the forest and camp were the two of you. He was scared.
"Astarion." You said slightly less firmly but still you made him look at you for a bit more than a second. "Whatever it is I'm not going to hurt you, you're safe." You informed him in a quieter and softer tone of your intentions.
"Safe?!" He scoffed sarcastically as he repeated what you said. "I'm not safe with anyone, that was the whole reason." Astarion dropped the act, responding to you angrily because you finally saw through his mask.
You tried to reach for his shoulders in an attempt to calm him down but he backed away even more so you gave up on that idea.
"Do you want to ta-"
"No." Astarion answered firmly. "In fact I'm going back." The vampire added, the truth was that even if he didn't wanted to get back to the camp where the celebration was held he just wanted to get away from you and to rethink what he had to do to have someone, anyone on his side.
"Astarion. Wait for moment." You called after him and followed him just a few steps before he stopped.
"What else do you want from me?" The vampire asked with a small growl.
"You don't have to go away from me. I agreed to spend time with you and honestly I don't care what we're doing as long as we're both fine with that." You suggested and waited in silence for a response.
Astarion after few seconds of concidering the offer turned around to face you and watched as you moved a little more closer to him and waited for you to elaborate further.
"We don't have to have sex in order for me to trust you. We can literally just sit next to each other in silence and I'd consider it a better activity than having sex when you clearly don't want to do that with me."
Astarion sighed and walked over to you hiding a small smile that appeared on his face because of what he heard as he never considered that as a possibility. "Alright what do you suggest?" He asked as he still wasn't quite sure how that would work out, and especially if it would be good enough.
"How about we just sit by the tree? We do have a bottle of wine, we can drink it if it's good enough for your exquisite taste but generally we can do whatever, we can talk if you'd like." You proposed that idea with a small teasing remark about Astarion's previous comments about wine but as you suggested talking the vampire wanted to say something but you quickly cleared up what were you exactly talking about. "We don't have to talk about this. We can talk about everything else if you don't want to or you're not ready to talk about that yet."
At that Astarion looked at you for a few seconds, seeing if there was a hidden intention in that but couldn't find anything in your strange behavior. "I would like that." He answered with a small smile that he made no attempt to hide.
As the night passed by after some drinking and talking Astarion rested his head on your lap as you were running your hand gently through his hair before the two of you had eventually fallen asleep more at peace than ever in the recent weeks. When the morning came the two of you didn't exactly say it out loud but knew that it would be something you'd be willing to repeat in some time but with less misunderstanding that came earlier.
