Chapter Text

Gellert's POV

"Yes and have you heard that Nelson and Tilly broke off their engagement? I was surprised as well and- Oh! My good heavens, you came earlier than I expected." I heard her say as she saw me. "I will call you next time, my nephew is here. Goodbye now." She ended her conversation and turned her attention back to me. "Gellert, how was the trip? How are you feeling dear?"

To turn the clock to about 15 minutes ago I was walking down to the small village, a hollow just up ahead, and found my aunt's house. I was leaning on the door frame listening to her conversation for quite some time now, until being only finally noticed by my aunt. She seemed to have been talking to someone in a *firecall though it got disconnected before I could see who it was.

Back to the present. "I'm alright aunt Bathilda. Thank you for asking." I said in a charming and polite manner.

"What a handsome and polite young man! Any girl would be lucky to have you." She said winking at me.

"You know there are plenty of young girls here at the hollow! Just let me know and I can set up a date for you."

She went on babbling about some girl but I wasn't really interested. Besides I didn't come here for some summer romance. I came for my quest to power and the Deathly Hallows and- wait shut up Gellert! Now you're babbling!

After I told my mind to stop babbling. It just so happened that my aunt finally shut up about a girl, Ariana I think, whom she wondered about wistfully from time to time. She asked if I wanted help with my luggage, but I politely declined, and showed me to my simple yet cozy room.

Timeskip brought to you by Gellert spying on the neighbors through his bedroom window.

It was after a short dinner consisting of more gossip than food that I said goodnight and finally headed off to my new room.

It was dark and most were probably asleep by now so I took the chance to sneak out through my window and take a stroll. I hoped to find something, anything connecting to the Peverell Brothers or the Deathly Hallows sign at least when I stopped suddenly.

There was a silhouette of a person standing over a gravestone. It was captivating in the moonlight. And that was when my quest for power was momentarily forgotten.

* A firecall is kind of like a phone call though the caller and receiver tend to use a fireplace to be able to hear and talk to each other.
