Chapter Text
“You want some melatonin?”
Dazed eyes is all Bridgette gets in response. The smaller girl nudges the goths shoulders.
A small sound emits of the blue haired girl, “Sorry…what were you saying Bri?”
Blue softened eyes gaze over the hangnails and the consistent shift of her friends legs.
“It’s going to be okay Gwen, this airplane and airport is secure. It’s nothing like world tour at all.”
Gwen nibbles on her bottom lip as her eyes haze over once again in consideration. Her legs shift over the rough fabric of the airplane seats.
She sighs, “That’s true, Chris is the only sick person to have a televised show openly tormenting people and being a little creep.” Bridgette lets out a tiny chuckle before grabbing a set of earplugs for her and Gwen.
The goth takes it with a faint smile, “Can I play my music?”
Bridgette does a dramatic thinking position before giving Gwen a ‘duh’ face.
Gwen hasn’t had a big vacation for 2 years, ever since the tv show that basically ruined her life. She can recall the times she would walk out in public to people screaming at her for things that she regretted so so much. But she can’t help the smile that blooms on her face at the thought of this vacation.
It’s just her and Bridgette. Bridgette was one of the only genuine people the tall girl knew during her time on total drama, so it makes since why they hit if off. Every-time anything major has happened in her life you could always bet on the blonde girl being there with her. So why would this be any different?
Her fingers coil around the blonde soft locks to form tiny braids. Bridgette always purrs like a cat when she does this. She beams at the thought, she thinks it kind of cute… although she would never admit that to the former. A hum rumbles through the air as the surfer leans into the sensation. Bingo! She knew it. She smiles to herself as she rests her head on the golden ray beams before drifting into a restless sleep.
Bridgette wakes up to a cranky Gwen watching some…hallmark movie? She doesn’t know, on the airplanes tv. Her lips are downturned and her brow is turned to a comical frown. She looks like a grumpy cat waiting for food. She tries to hide a giggle at the comparison but fails miserably.
“Oh Bri when did you get up.”
“Just right now don’t worry, now when did you get up?” She’s always been an interrogator, especially when it comes to people she cares about.
Gwen stiffens before thinking about her next words, “To be honest I’ve kind of just been drifting.”
She gives her an understanding look before nudging her head into the crook of the tired girl’s neck.
She needs something to help distract Gwen, “Whatcha watching?”
“Mm…some random romance movie. I should really switch it, you know how much I hate these types of movies.” Ah yes, she can scroll through the multitude of memories of Gwen ranting about how stupid they were. She’ll never tell her that she thinks she secretly enjoys them.
“I think they’re pretty neat, I mean yea, no relationship is ever that perfect but it’s nice to see that everyone has there person romantic or platonic, you know?”
Gwen seems to sit on that for a minute before just slowly nodding. They sit a comfortable silence watching the couple on the screen finally apologize to each other before sucking there faces off.
Oh god it reminds her of Geoff and her when they were a thing…She still needs to apologize to everyone who had ever seen them. She chuckles at the thought of that relationship. Honestly she had a lot of fun but having fun isn’t everything. You still need the stability and communication which her Geoff mostly lacked.
“You smell so good.”
Broken out of her thoughts she hums in confusion.
“Sorry didn’t mean to say that out loud but seriously you always smell good.”
Bridgette smiles and tries to do a small curtesy in her seat, “I’ve been this blend of things I have at home.”
Gwen huffs a curious laugh, “You always make everything how do you have the time.”
Bridgette puts sleepy puts a finger to lips signaling that she has her secrets.
Gwen slowly starts doing the thing that makes her go mad. Her rough fingers felt like butter as she made through the new knots that have formed in her own hair. She hums as she falls into unconscious with other girl.
Gwen wakes up to the plane landing at there final destination. She starts already growing a headache at the thought of the airport traffic.
The next 2 hours are a blur of security checks and lines. “It’s finally over!” Gwen huffs as she starts to step out of the airport gate.
Bridgette hums in acknowledgment as she waits for their Uber to pick them up. Although they traveled around the ‘whole world’ Gwen’s never been to Venice. Her sensitive nose picked up on a lot of…interesting scents but man was it gorgeous.
“I’m so stocked, I’ve heard the waves are really fast and shallow here.” Her passion leaked out with every word.
“Also Gwen you have to come surfing with me!” Before she can open her mouth to oppose Bridgette runs off into the car. Darn it guess she’ll just have to tell her later. Although it will probably break her spirit so…yea she’s not doing that.
The car ride was quick and comfortable as their hotel was only a few stops away.
The hotel was made out gorgeous marble and had windows that viewed the canal they were under. Gwen felt like a little kid as she walked around the halls to see all the decorations and bookshelf’s.
“It’s pretty isn’t it?” Gwen looks back to see a freckled face. She hums in agreement.
“Let’s go check out our room!” Bridgette grabs her by arm as she takes them to the 2nd floor.
Her fingers fumble with the key for a bit before they finally open it. They get hit with the smell of old hotel as soon as they walk in.
Gwen glances around before flopping on the bed and groaning. Bridgette karate chops her back to bring her back the reality.
“What?”, she mumbles into the bed sheets.
Bridgette looks a little nervous before responding. “I think we only have one bed.”
She looks around to see if she was just fucking with her but to no avail.
Oh shit this was going to be a long vacation
