Work Text:

“Mama I wanna show daddy.” Says Daisy looking up at Lucy with big eyes. “Do you think he will like it?” Lucy bends down and kisses Daisy on the head.

“Of course baby.” Lucy tells her four year old. Lucy had gotten her a new dress. It was a light pink dress with little flowers all over it. She always liked to tell Daisy she was her little flower and her daughter embraced it. “I think he’s downstairs go show him!” Daisy twirls once before she’s running out of the room and down the stairs.

Lucy follows her and stops short when she sees Daisy twirling in front of Tim whose watching her with a smile on his face.

“Daddy.” Daisy says bouncing on her toes a little. “Mama got me a dress!”

“I see that.” Says Tim and he motions Daisy to come closer, she does a little shyly. Tim reaches out for her and has her twirl around. She giggles as she does.

“Again daddy.” She says. Tim smiles her and stands up lifting her up and placing her on his feet.

“Why don’t we dance?” He asks her and Lucy watches as Daisy looks up at him with a big smile on her face.

“Okay daddy.” She says softly. “Dance.”

Tim twirls her around and she giggles her little ponytail swinging as he does. Lucy smiles as she watches them feeling grateful that Tim is such a wonderful dad to their babies. She didn’t have any doubts about him being a great dad when Ava was born and he was as she had thought amazing. And then Daisy was born and he just kept being a great dad, an amazing dad who would do anything for his babies. When the twins were born he was nervous about being a dad to a boy because he didn’t want to be his dad. But he wasn’t and as Lucy told him every day, he was raising a good son, a sweet, amazing little boy.

She knows he tries everyday to be the best dad he can possibly be not only to Levi but to his girls too.

“Daddy do you like my dress?” Daisy asks him. Tim pick her up and dips her upside down, when he does he catches Lucy’s eyes and winks and then lifts Daisy back up.

“I love it little flower.” He says and Daisy’s eyes light up. She wraps her arms around his neck and hugs him tightly.

Lucy takes out her phone and snaps a picture. He spins around the room making Daisy giggle.

“Again daddy! Again!” Daisy squeals and Tim does it again and again.

He spins her around and Daisy sees her and her smile gets bigger. “Mama! Come here!” She says reaching for her. Lucy makes her way over and Tim pulls her in. His hand on her waist and his other holding Daisy up.

It’s a little awkward but Tim manages to spin Lucy out and back in and out. And then Daisy is tugging on his sleeve to do it to her. So he puts her down and does it making their daughter giggle.

Lucy backs up again just content on watching Daisy and Tim dance.

And she is so glad her kids have a dad like Tim who will drop everything just to dance and love on them.

She never had that, Tim never had that and she knew he was just as determined to give their kids the best life possible.

Mistakes would be made, they weren’t perfect but there would always be love to go around. They would make sure their kids felt nothing but love even when it was hard.

She watches as Daisy gets dipped and smiles. And then Daisy is wrapping herself around Tim much like Lucy does.

“I love you daddy.” She hears Daisy whisper laying her head on his shoulder. Tim catches Lucy’s eye once more before he’s rubbing their daughter’s back in soothing circles.

“I love you too my little flower.”
