Work Text:

You have a mission today. A very specific gameplan. Get to work, get your tasks done then get home to spend the whole night relaxing, simple! In theory.

Your body, however, is highly protesting you being able to complete your work. All you have to do is move boxes from a storage closet into the daycare and unpack them but the pain in your abdomen is making it quite the difficult task. you'd taken painkillers, of course, but they've done little to aid you.

You've only managed to move a grand total of two boxes onto the cart that's used to transport them so far, so not great progress considering you've been at this for twenty minutes. Every movement causes a twinge of pain and the low constant ache of your body paired with general dreariness isn't of much help.

On the third box, you double over in pain, gripping your lower stomach with a whine, you drop it, spilling the contents…everywhere. Plastic bottles of glitter roll out, some shattering from the impact sending the irritating substance flying everywhere, you stare.

Before you start bawling uncontrollably, slumping to the ground and burying your face in your hands, you aren't sure how long you spend but your knees ache and there's a pounding in your skull.

You hear the door creak open and you're about to yell at the intruder to get out in your blind frustration until your eyes focus through the tears and you see sun standing there and instead of feeling angry, you just feel embarrassed, hiding your face in your hands again as you sniffle out an apology, what for you aren't exactly sure.

The sound of bells jingling lightly hits your ears as sun pads over, you register him kneeling down beside you before a large hand rubs over your back, another moving around your side to pull you closer, when sun finally speaks it's unlike his usual tone, it's soft and quiet as a hand starts petting over your hair.

"it's alright sunshine, I've got you"

It only breaks the dam further, the horrible pain in your abdomen flaring, you drop your hands from your face, resigning to possible future embarrassment to cling onto sun, he says nothing, moving to hold you closer with a comforting hand resting at the back of your skull, you aren't sure how long it takes for you to calm down but when you look up at sun he gives you a soft smile, wiping some remaining wetness from your cheek.

"Would you like to tell me what's wrong sweetheart?"

You almost start crying again but quickly lean forward to rest your head against the casing of their chest so you don't cry looking at the sweet smile on his face, you mumble some things, incoherently before sighing and slumping further forward, he wraps his arms around your waist securely, rubbing your back softly.

"This is..embarrassing. uh." Scrunching your nose you bite the bullet, "I'm..on my period and in a lot of pain and I guess my hormones being out of whack kind of made me spiral." You sniffle out, burying yourself further against him

A gentle hand pats your head again, with a chuckle he assures you "not embarrassing at all sunshine but alright, why don't we take a break?" You nod against him, he shifts before asking "may I pick you up, love?" Now calmed down you can't help the furious blush overtaking your face at the pet names he's been throwing out, you nod against him again and he's quick to slip a hand behind your knees and back to carefully lift you.

Another wave of pain hits you at the change of position causing you to wince and squirm uncomfortably in sun's grip, he gives an apologetic smile,

"I know, I know my sunshine just hang on a moment longer, alright?"

You snuggle closer in his grip, closing your eyes and nodding.

You must've gotten so comfy that you dozed off because next time you open your eyes you're being lowered gently into a plush nest of blankets and pillows

"Welcome back sleepy head" the animatronic beams, his smile drops slightly as he stands to full height.

"Just wait here a moment, ok? I'll go get you some things!"

He's already out of the room before you can respond which you might be glad for, the attention and affection is dizzying, making it hard to focus in your already addled state.

You lean back into the pile of softness, breathing out a sigh of relief when the plush mountain eases the ache of your bones.

You almost don't notice suns timely return until he lets out a light chuckle and you look up to see him smiling softly at you

"Comfy, darling?"

Oh you are not going to survive, "This is so unfairrrr" you groan, covering your heated face and flopping back onto the cushions

He simply chuckles again, scooting into the pile next to you and softly petting your forehead with his thumb as his large hand cups your cheek, you lean into the comforting touch readily, "unfair?" The bot simpers

"You're being too sweet, m'gonna get cavities" you huff

He lets out a chuckle "oh, what a shame" he punctuates by poking your nose gently "I've brought you some things"

A bag rustles, sitting up you find a selection of various chocolates, water bottles, painkillers and a ridiculously soft looking pair of pyjamas, sun and moon themed of course.

Don't. cry. again.

The water and painkillers are snatched up and consumed quickly, followed by a few chunks of a chocolate bar, afterwards you're very eager to get into the pyjamas, sun turns around as you change and by that you mean he spins his faceplate 180 degrees. Silly robot.

The pyjamas are as soft as they looked, everything is feeling better until that familiar stabbing pain returns with the painkillers not having had enough time to kick in, you think for a moment before deciding, well, you might as well ask.

"Sunny, do you have anything heated I could press against my stomach? Helps with the pain" you explain meekly, already feeling a little bad about him fetching you so many things

"Oh, yes!" He quickly shuffles, easing you to lay down, he follows, curling around you, you're about to ask what he's doing when a warm hand snakes around your middle to rest on your abdomen, warming you pleasantly.

With a contented sigh you immediately snuggle into the makeshift bed, eyes growing heavy, suns hand gently rubs over your stomach melting the pain away with the soft touch and sweet words.

"V'gotta job to doooo" you mumble in complaint, there's no real annoyance behind it though, after all you'd much rather be snuggled up with your favourite friend then working

"Mhm, you do, your job is getting some rest, go on, you've earned it" you feel the distinct press of smiling teeth press against the top of your head in what you think must be a kiss, your eyes well up again with a shaky smile, you nestle yourself back against him sleepily with a content sigh, "mh love you" you mumble out before a long needed rest overtakes you.

You don't get to see the flustered jittering of rays against the pillows nor do you hear his response, "we love you too starlight."
