She knows the line, the distaste in the villain's voice.
She knows the turning point that grabs the bad guy's attention and points it at her. She knows the moment that she becomes the villain in their eyes. The moment that she becomes the one to beat.
"To the one who vexes me, smaller, smaller you will be!"
"I banished you before, but now you'll feel the full force of my wrath!"
"You again, blondie?"
"A little bird whispered in my ear that some human girl freed the Magic Crystal."
"Your whole little world will be perfect."
"Tower, Tower, do your part! Never release your prisoner with a lying heart!"
She knows the voice, the feeling behind it, no matter what it says or who it's from. She knows that in so many universes, so many places, that she is the one that must go against them, she is the good in this world.
She is the one that will save the day.
A mouse.
Fairies.
The Queen's Advisor.
Mermaids.
A witch, a wizard.
Fashion rivals.
She knows who they are, deep down, knows that they are connected, and yet, they are so very different.
They have her in common.
Barbara Millicent Roberts.
"Who do you think you are?" They yell, their voice dripping with anger, resentment. They're about to win and she's the final line of defense. She's the one that they must get past to win.
And Barbie does what she must to keep them from achieving that goal. She stands her ground and fights back.
"I'm Barbie," She counters, but there are a million other names rolling off her tongue.

Kristyn.
Annika.
Genevieve.
Blair.
Lumina.
Alexa.
She's all of them.
And yet, she's still Barbie. As she pulls herself forward, she exactly what she has to do to win.
She knows from deep within.
She's Barbara Millicent Roberts.
And she's so much more.
