When Violet get back to her house she has a weird feeling, Amara hasn’t texted or called her all day and she’s starting to worry, this isn’t like her. She’s thinking about trying to call her again while walking into her room when she stop in her track, on her bed is Amara herself, but she have a tear stains on her cheek, her eyes and nose are red and she’s still sniffling.
Violet get out of her shock when Amara looks at her, looking miserable. Before she even know what’s going on she climbing into her bed next to Amara, hugging her and muttering comforting nonsense while Amara son into her shirt.
After a few minutes of this; when Amara had calm down Violet looks down at her and asks softly “is everything okay?”.
Amara looks up at her with sad eyes, making Violet hurt miss a beat, “no” she whisper softly.
“What happened?” Violet ask in a broken sort of tone that’s very unlike her.
Amara avoid her eyes while answering “I know we said our ‘I live you’ already and all… and I do love you! But… I don’t think I’m in love with you”.
Violet can see in Amara eyes that she’s waiting for some big reaction, for her to look betrayed and kick her out but honestly Violet just feel acceptance, honestly she had her suspicions, who else will be able to love her even though she’s repulsed by sex but a girl who isn’t in love with her, but someone who it won’t affect.
After a couple of minutes of pure silence Amara started to get even more nervous by the completely emotionless expression on Violet face “it’s not you.. I just don’t think I’m able to love anyone, and I tried, I tried so hard, I thought it was just harder for me and I will grow into it but then time went on and I just couldn’t fall in love with you and then I knew, I knew I can’t fall in love with anyone, because you’re so amazing, and if I can fall in love with someone I know it will be you, but I just can’t.”
Violet eyes soften, and a small smile tickled the side of her mouth she cupped Amara face and whisper softly, “I love knowing all the little things about you, I love how you your forehead is really sensitive, I love how you can never tan and how you can manage to burn in the winter, I love how there’s exactly three beauty spots on your face and I love the face that I can point them out with my eyes closed, I love your freakishly big feet, I love your eyes, I love how your laugh seems to change weekly, I love your random facts, I love everything about you, and I get it that you won’t love me back in the same way, but i don’t care, as long as you promise to love me the way you can I will be in love enough for both of us.”
Amara eyes went wider and wider the longer Violet little speech went, she started tearing up while smiling wide and in that moment as both girls were smiling at each other they knew they will always be there for each other, they’re the forever kind of thing.
