A fateful night

Summary:

At one night Armin with his prisone...guards investigates slums, where he finds a person able to free him from his misery.

Notes:

I give a huge 'thank you' to Isayama and to the AoT fandom! We're finally at the end of this story, and I dedicate this work to this very moment of tragic unity, when the whole fandom will change with the release of the last entry. Moreover, I thank Anna Wayne and Kepobaka for their artworks; the general chemistry between Armin and Annie and the stunning vampire Annie have inspired me even more to write this little poem. Thank you again!

Work Text:

Who comes there so late with big noises and lights?
It’s a scientist Armin, guarded by knights.
The scientist’s passion is driving him far
Yet he’s limited by the new obtuse czar.

“Please, Armin, come here, I have something for you:
It’s better for you, and you know it is true.
So come to dark corner you’re seeing right now
And explore it, you don’t have to hear ‘we allow’ ”.

“I’ll have to go, there is something important to be found”.
“Wait, Armin, for bravery you won’t be renowned!”
But Armin remembered all the bad things
Done to his family by all previous kings.

And Armin didn’t listen and charged into dark
As if he tried to reach Noah’s Ark.
Yet little he knew about the one waited him
And in an instant his guards turned grim.

“You’ve made the right choice, now get your reward:
Moreover, your guards have no one to ward.
If you’re not willing, the force I shall not employ,
Since you’ve been too hurt and shy for a boy”.

It was a vampire, pale beauty in everything black,
And everyone knew: there was no turning back.
She was alike death, her eyes were blood red,
And in an instant all guards became dead.

“Don’t you worry about it, I got your back,”
And now a black cloak was on his neck.
While checking, was he actually hurt,
His snow white coat was lying in dirt.

“My name is Annie, and I’ll give you a prize:
I have all you need without you paying the price”.
Armin grabbed vampire’s hand, not being feared,
And the next day they both disappeared.
