Rhaenyra doesn’t take no for an answer, and she has this innate power to convince people to do what she wants them to do, and Alicent’s only other options are moving into the NYU dorms because her father outright said he’s not paying for her “liberal education” or taking up Laenor’s offer to be roommates, and it’s not like she has anything against Laenor, they’re all best friends and have been since middle school, but she’s already accidentally walked in on him and his boyfriend going at it once and she doesn’t want to ever experience that mix of embarrassment and anxiety ever again, so Alicent lets herself be convinced by her best friend to be roommates, because of course they would be roommates.
