Work Text:

Wonwoo-sunbaenim was a quiet person, and Soonyoung-sunbaenim was the loud person. For as long since Lee Chan joined the bureau, that was the reality he had been living in.  Yet on one fine night, where the moon hid itself behind the clouds, Lee Chan saw something that shook his worldview: the one and only Kwon Soonyoung, the holder of title ‘noisiest person of the bureau’, actually stayed silent while gazing at the moon on their rooftop. A jar of liquor was seen next to his crossed leg, his hand holding a small cup that was usually kept at the kitchen.

Lee Chan rubbed his eyes to make sure he saw things right. He even pinched his arm and ouch, it hurt.

He was not imagining things.

It was really Kwon Soonyoung sitting silently on the rooftop.

Horror-struck, Lee Chan ran to grab someone he deemed sane–and found it in the form of Kim Mingyu, who had just finished cleaning the aftermath of their dinnertime. Poor boy pointed out of the door, his fingers heavily trembling. “S-Soonyoung-sunbaenim–he’s not being himself!”

“Calm down first–how’s he not being himself?” Mingyu tried not to get swept away in his dongsaeng’s panic.

“He–he’s not being loud! He’s silent, like a statue!”

Mingyu looked speechless. “Does he have something near him? A cup or jar or something?”

“Uh! There is a cup, and there is also a jar of alcohol…?”

Understanding appeared in Mingyu’s face. Then he patted Chan’s shoulders. “Thank you for informing me. It’s okay. He's just drunk. Thankfully you didn’t get close to him and immediately ran here.”

Out of curiosity, Chan asked, “What will happen if I come near him?”

His tallest senior let out a long sigh that spoke of long suffering. “You’ll get traumatized.”

“More than when I accidentally barged into our Leader’s room?”

“Wait you did what?”

Chan put his crossed fingers in front of his mouth. “So how should we deal with drunk Soonyoung-sunbaenim?”

“I’ll take care of that but–what was that, just now? You barged into whose room??”

“Nevermind that! Please pretend I said nothing!!”

“Chan-ah? Chan-aaah! Chan-ah don’t leave me hanging, spill the whole tea aaah!”

(the next morning, and for several days afterward, had Chan spent his day running away from an overly curious big puppy personified that was Kim Mingyu. Many times, Chan had to use Wonwoo as his shield, knowing nothing would dare to get the Jeon Wonwoo–not even the eldest trio.  Chan spent his days busily avoiding Mingyu that he did not notice the awkward tension between the big puppy-sunbaenim and the self-proclaimed tiger-sunbaenim the day after Chan found Soonyoung drunk on the roof.

Wonwoo, who managed to pry out information from the three of them, and thus was in the know of (almost) the whole thing sighed like a tired elder)
