Work Text:
Wonwoo was smiling, but the smile did not reach his eyes.
Both Mingyu and Soonyoung averted their eyes, not daring to face the gloomy aura that slowly spread from Wonwoo’s back.
“So,” Wonwoo’s voice was not that different from usual, yet somehow, it felt dangerous , “What happened here?”
The two of them immediately pointed at each other. “It’s his fault!”
Wonwoo’s smile still did not reach his eyes.
Both of them quieted down again.
The room was deathly silent. Only Seokmin’s voice, trying to calm the still sobbing Lee Chan, filled the emptiness. “It’s okay. Let it all out, your Hyungs are here,” he whispered as he gently patted Lee Chan’s back.
The corner of Wonwoo’s lips twitched. His arms are no longer crossed across his chest; he was cracking his fingers. The fighting big puppy and tiger instantly reconciled and hugged each other in fear. Jeon Wonwoo was not the type to go physical–that was not a secret. But one thing that they knew and public did not was, if it was related to the younger ones, Wonwoo would do anything to keep them happy. And if that line was crossed, well…
…let’s say he was the biggest contributor of corporal punishment to the culprit of last incident where Lee Chan was publicly humiliated, aye.
“Okay! I’ll count down from three; three, two–”
“WE ACCIDENTALLY ATE CHANNIE’S LUNCH WE’RE SORRY WE’RE SORRY WE’RE SORRYYY!”
Wonwoo paused his scary mode for a moment. Putting on his gentle brother mode, he turned to confirm it to Chan. “Are they telling the truth?”
Chan sniffled. “That lunch was prepared by my Grandmother, someone from my home delivered it this morning…”
Aaah. That explained his tears.
Seokmin hugged him even tighter. “This Hyung will take you to your home. We’ll get you a new lunch, alright?” Chan tearfully nodded. But then, he looked confused. “But is it okay? Isn’t lunchtime ending soon? We have to be on duty soon, don’t we?”
“It’s okay, I’ll explain everything to our Leader,” Wonwoo chirped. He had both Mingyu and Soonyoung’s collars in each of his hands. “These two are not busy, anyway. You can take your time, I’ll make sure they get their punishment.” Then he laughed nonchalantly.
(moral value of this story was: (1) do not make the maknaes shed tears; (2) do not cross Wonwoo’s line; and (3) no one could escape divine punishment that was the result of breaking the first and second rule. Mingyu and Soonyoung learnt the hard way.
What was their shared punishment, you ask?
“Chan-ah, open your mouth, aaah~”
“Chan-ah! Is your shoulder stiff? Or your feet? Let this Hyung massage it–”
“STOP IT PLEASE BOTH OF YOU ARE SCARING ME!”
When the newly returned Minghao asked what was the cause of this chaos, Wonwoo shrugged. “I wonder what happened~”
For the first time, it was not Seungkwan who gave out bombastic side eyes–Seokmin did it while Seungkwan was away from the crime scene)
