Work Text:
Ness was making space in his apartment. You see, his boyfriend just went through a very traumatic job week that ended with one of their friends in a coma. And now he was out of a job and without his weekly pay and he’s facing eviction. So like the lovely boyfriend he was, he offered them to stay at his place. Mike accepted and here he was. Turning his second bedroom into a kids room.
He had saved some money to decorate Abby’s room with some fairy lights. Now it was just waiting for mike to arrive. He had some cookies in the oven as a show of welcome. He took those out and set them on a cooling rack. Ness sighed as he was finally done moving his computer to the living room. He might have to move his podcast setup to the garage.
There was a knock at the door and Ness smiled. They were here. A uhaul truck being driven by vanessa with the few belongings they own. He opened the door and looked town at abby.
“Hello sweetie, did you have a good trip here.”
“Yup!” She smiled.
“Well, let’s go help your brother with the truck.”
Ness approached the back of the truck and saw mike. He was wearing the thinnest tank top you could imagine, and was hauling their few belongings out of the truck. Ness’ jaw dropped for a moment before regaining focus.
“Hello sugar, need some help.” Ness said.
So they took all the boxes from the truck and into the house, Abby sitting at the edge of the back of the truck telling the three adults about her time at school. They were done by late afternoon. Abby was napping on the couch, having insisted that she will only see her room when they are all done.
Mike was checking the truck to see if anything had not been left there or dropped when he slipped at the edge. He winced, expecting to fall on his ass, but then he was caught by none other than his boyfriends strong arms in a bridal carry. Vanessa whistled and mike blushed to all hell.
“Cmon mike, a bride has to be carried into her new home.”
Ness without needing to use that much effort carried mike into their home. And that’s when it set in for mike, their home, he was going to be living with his boyfriend. He then pulled him into a soul stealing kiss. It was then that Abby woke up.
“Eww MIKE!!” She laughed. “Cmon! Let’s see my room!”
Mike was let down and pulled into abby’s new room by her. It was bare, but lightly decorated. Mike loved the fairy lights. It was then that Ness came in with a box and said.
“I wanted to leave it empty for you to decorate with these.”
The box had all of abby’s drawings they took from the other house. Mike had tears in his eyes, how was he so lucky with Ness. Abby pulled him into a bone crushing hug. He then pulled out a box of pins. And Abby got to work. Mike, Ness and Vanessa, helping her reach higher places on the walls. By nightfall Abby was tucked in and asleep. Vanessa had at one point gone back to grab mike’s car from the uhal. And by the time Abby was asleep she had taken a taxi home.
Ness and Mike left Abby’s bed heading to their room. Mike then realized they were sleeping together. Ness changed into his sleep clothes and motioned mike over. Mike put on a hoodie he had in his suitcase and took off his jeans. He then shyly cuddled up to Ness. Ness gave him a big ol smooch in the lips and Mike melted. They settled into a comfy position Ness’s face cuddled to his neck, and mike was comfortably falling asleep in his lover’s arms.
The next morning mike woke up and headed to the ensuite bathroom and groggily saw his face in the mirror. Then he noticed the Purple bruises on his neck. His eyes widened as the culprit walked into the bathroom, only to plant his face at the scene of the crime.
“NESS!!!”
