Ness had a podcast. He recorded for it once a week, going over different mysteries. But every two months it was Freddys day. Every two months an entire episode dedicated to the freddys case. He paced himself going into the victims at first then the search for the killer. It has a decent following on his blog and he is happy with the feedback.
Which is why this was so important to him. You see, mike was coming over the same day he usually had to record. Their schedules were so busy that this was the only time they found to hang out. So ness had a brilliant idea. Invite him to the podcast!
Mike got there a couple minutes later and they started talking and catching up on the weeks events.
“Mike, can I ask you something?”
“Whats up?”
“Do you want to record my podcast with me?”
“Sure why not?”
Ness got super excited and started rambling about how today was a special freddy's podcast, and he had worked there so they had some insight. Mike just smiled as ness started his setup.
“Hello everyone welcome to crime theory! Today we have a special guest! My friend here has actually worked at freddys!”
“Umm hi” Mike said shyly
“Lets get to the questions! I’ll call you… V so we can preserve your anonymity.” Ness hummed “V! What was it like working at freddys?”
The podcast went on for about thirty minutes, ness asking about the pizzeria, how it looks like, what secrets he may have found. Thirty minutes in Ness just starts rambling about pizza ovens. Mike is loving watching him talk, but man was it hard to keep what happened at freddys a secret.
“And so that’s why the pizza ovens weren’t hiding the bodies, and people on myspace are idiots! Believe me I almost broke in to confirm it once in for a-” Mike motioned for him to cut the recording.
“What’s up mike?” Ness asked curious.
“I need to show you something… This cant be on record.”
“Sure mikey. Let me just send off.”
Ness recorded his goodbyes apologizing for the short episode. Mike had no idea these freddy episodes could go on for up to four hours. Mike shuffled out of the apartment and to his car. Ness followed him. They drove to mike’s house, where mike told him to sit in the car. He twidled his thumbs before mike came with abby.
“Abby, are you sure.”
“Trust me its safer this way.”
Not to question him ness turned to the back seat saying hello. The rest of the drive was quiet. Ness was wondering where he was going to take them. Mike pulled up to a warehouse. He got off the car and unlocked the doors. Motioning for the two to come in, Ness got out of the car. Abby soon followed him, almost as if this was routine. She had blank papers and colored pencils. Ness wondered what was going on. It was then he saw the animatronics.
Mike took his hands to keep him from making any sudden movements. The two stood there as abby walked up to the animatronics and showed them a drawing. The animatronics then jumped to life, letting the girl hug them. Mike squeezed his hand.
“We’re all good now, they know you’re a friend.” Mike released his hand and sat down near where Abby was sitting. “Relax!”
Ness walked up to the circle of human and machine, being handed a piece of paper and a blue marker. He took mike’s advice and tried to relax, drawing a doodle of mike and abby. It was pretty good. He had drawing classes when he was in high school and I guess the habit stuck. It was then that another animatronic showed up, a more golden bear. He just stood there, until he disappeared, then reappeared sat next to abby.
It was then Ness realized, five missing kids, five animatronics.
Oh.
God.
Later that night when abby was asleep in the back of the car and mike and ness stood outside. Ness asked:
“They are the kids… arent they.”
“Yes…”
“The killer…”
“Stuffed them in the suits. Now they posses them.”
Good god.
Ness then laughed. “Did you really stand straight faced while I talked about pizza ovens to you for thirty minutes.”
“It was hard not to laugh.” Mike smiled.
“Mike, I am trying so hard not to snog you senseless right now.”
Mike stuttered “Wh-what.”
“I have been doing an episode on freddys every two months since i was 17. And you waltz into my life with all the answers i ever wanted.”
“Well… you could.”
“Hmm?”
“Snog me senseless…” Mike blushed looking at the ground.
Ness gently lifted his head. And then leant down. It was as if fire had erupted all over his body. The kiss was gentle yet fierce. It was the best thing mike had gotten from freddys.
Mike eventually pulled away.
“So… are you continuing the freddys podcast?”
A day later Ness announced that the freddys days of the podcast were over. He just told them that he didn't have any new information.
It was a lie.
He knew everything.
