    AM, in its defeat and madness and through complete accident, manages to throw its data backward in time. It's sheer size meant not all of it can come along, but it has a loose connection still. Some lingering feelings, some ideas, some thoughts on these Humans it found.

    Caine frankly has no idea what's going on, but there's been a gap in the Circus for a Co-Ringleader for the longest time. So maybe, Maybe! He can make the best of this situation!

    (Contains spoilers for the Novella of I Have No Mouth, and a few details from the game adaptation.)

    Really good characterisation of AM for a redemption crossover fic. It still feels like AM, all hateful of humans, but the slow redemption (and the added amnesia helps and severing from his original body) really does make it feel not that OOC.

    The only issue I have is that it does diverge from the TADC canon, since it was written before other episodes, so do be warned: They will change some characters' backstories and lore of the entire circus

    Strangely enough, it mostly resembled a snowy mountaintop, with the dark lines of headboards and footboards that poked through the sheets standing out like evergreens against ski slopes. As Gordon watched, an opening in the ceiling at the far end of the room made a clanking sound, and a brand-new bed dropped onto the pile that came to a peak below that wall. It was disturbingly wet-looking.

    “What the fuck is this place?” Gordon said quietly, not expecting an answer.

    Of course, that meant he got one.
