Nothing to do with Singing or Dancing

Summary:

Team Otori spend some downtime together in Hoshitani/Nayuki's room. Tengenji made flower crowns, and Tavian wants attention.

Work Text:

Hoshitani held Nayuki's hand as they watched random videos in english on the internet. On the bunk above them, Tengenji was trying to explain the flower crowns he'd made without making himself look like he was a romantic sap. Tsukigami was listening, dragging his fingers across Tengenji's nose and smiling when his subject made a noise of annoyance. Kuga was sitting at the desk, each bed barely had space for two, he was taking care of Tavian, who was still shy from all the attention he'd been getting.

Hoshitani got up from the bed, being careful to place the laptop on Nayuki's lap. He had to return for a parting kiss when Nayuki's eyebrows moved to worried.

“Tsukigami's being cute, and I don't want to miss it.” He whispered while he was still inches away from Nayuki's face, stilling cupping it with his hand, “Sorry.”

As Hoshitani straightened up to see what Tengenji was saying, and to absent-mindedly hold Tsukigami's hand, Nayuki got a view of his crotch. He turned away, blushing.

“...so flower crowns are actually the height of masculinity.” Tengenji finished.

“Just like having a kitten?” Tsukigami prompted.

“I don't think kittens have anything to do with masculinity or femininity!” Hoshitani said.

Tengenji's hand found its way under Tsukigami's shirt, “Tavian, come up here.”

Kuga gently lifted Tavian so he wouldn't have to try scaling something as large as a bunk bed. Tavian meowed an approval and started walking to explore the new area. Kuga turned to watching whatever Nayuki was watching, an english pop music group, “Boy Band” they called it. Tsukigami split his attention between watching Tavian and laying kisses on Tengenji's cheek.

“Do you know anything about them?” Nayuki asked Kuga about the 'boy band'.

“They speak English, they're not as cute as us, they don't look like they've got to synchronise their dancing.” Kuga put his arm around Nayuki's shoulder.

Hoshitani bent down when Kuga tapped on his thigh. “He thinks you're pretty.” Kuga said, pointing to Nayuki. Nayuki lightly punched his arm and smiled at them both.

“Well I think you're prettier than me, Nayuki!” That made him blush.

Tavian had found a spot to sit down, Tengenji's lap. It was warm enough. Tsukigami's hands had moved to pat Tavian, and hold Tengenji's other hand behind his shoulder. The top bunk was enjoying their almost silence, broken by the sound of the boy band. Kuga got up to go to work, and most of them kissed him goodbye before he was out the door and leaving.

Hoshitani settled into his original spot next to Nayuki and sought out a hand to hold. Nayuki changed the video to a different group, this one British. Tengenji's hand under Tsukigami's shirt settled into covering his bellybutton as conversation started up again.

“You know, your face is pretty cute.” Tsukigami said.

“Not as cute as you.” Tengenji responded.

“And your hair, I should run my fingers through it more often.” Tsukigami said as he did with his hand-holding hand.

“But, you haven't noticed how perfect the rest of your body is, aside from your face.”

Tsukigami raised as eyebrow.

“Your toenails, for example, are perfectly cut.”

Tsukigami lost interest and kissed Tengenji to get him to stop talking again. Tavian meowed. Nayuki asked them what they wanted to eat tomorrow.

“Oh! Another burger.” Tengenji said. That got them all to laugh.

“Anything you make is going to be perfect, Nayuki!” Hoshitani said, kissing his cheek.

“A bento. They remind me of when we became friends.” Tsukigami said. Hoshitani and Nayuki grinned at each other, and Tengenji gave Tsukigami a messy kiss.
