Chapter Text
Childe has noticed something interesting about Zhongli: He has fangs.
It’s not like Childe wasn’t aware that Zhongli is a dragon-qilin, but he never noticed the fangs until now since he thought Zhongli would have a completely human disguise.
He noticed them when they were eating once at Wamin, and he feels like he would’ve noticed them sooner (since he stares and Zhongli’s mouth all the time). As he was going to take a bite, Childe saw the sharp fangs glint. He stopped in the middle of his tangent in surprise which Zhongli took notice of.
“Childe? Is there something wrong?” Since Childe’s staring was zeroed in on his mouth, he wiped his face clean and examined the napkin for anything.
Childe blinked and nervously tried to save himself, “Ah, it’s nothing sorry. Uh, what were we talking about again?” Zhongli, thankfully, let it slide and reminded him where he was.
That night, Childe could not stop thinking about them.
His thoughts were plagued of
why
and
whats
, more specifically,
how would they feel against his skin?
He has no idea why he is so focused on how they would feel and why he wants to know how they would feel. He tries to brush it off, but every time he would see Zhongli he would almost crave it.
Listen, he already know he is in love with Zhongli. He had his denial phase and all that jazz, but he thought he wouldn’t stoop that far to having interesting not safe-for-work thoughts about him. He had stupid giddy thoughts of holding his hand or saying something sappy to him, but to crave the feeling of his
fangs?
Archons, help him.
His fangs kinda remind him of vampires, actually.
Zhongli sits before him eating some bamboo shoot soup that he prepared himself. They’re both in his apartment above Wangsheng Funeral Parlor since they decided to continue the indoors. Childe pretends like he is actually eating his portion, but he is way too focused on Zhongli using his sharp teeth to tear off portions of bamboo.
Is Zhongli secretly half-vampire in this form? They’ve been drinking some fire water that Childe brought over since Zhongli never tried it before. Would he find Childe weird if he asked to touch them? Zhongli also brought out some Osmanthus wine for him to try since he never tried that kind of wine. God, It probably would feel good to have Zhongli suck his blood.
With all this alcohol running in his system, Childe’s thoughts were wild and he needed to say something at this point.
“Mr. Zhongli, sorry if this is rude to ask, but is there a reason why you have fangs?” Childe tried to distract himself over the fact he asked this by actually eating his food and looking away from Zhongli’s face.
Zhongli was sorta taken aback by the question, Childe can take a guess no one really expects their teeth to be apart of conversation over a meal. “My fangs?” He pauses for a second to feel for them in his mouth before speaking while chuckling, “Oh, I had no idea that these were there. Do they bother you?” He sounded as if he would take him away the instant Childe said yes, which he honestly doesn’t doubt that he will.
“Oh no, I was just curious that's all.” Understatement of the year.
Zhongli continues eating, “I’m assuming at some point my mortal form started leaning towards more my dragonic one and I hadn’t realized. So thank you for pointing it out to me, Childe.” He smiles sweetly at him. Of course he smiles like that at him, fangs slightly peaking out since they're so long. Might as well kill him at this point.
