Chapter Text
78 BC
Ganondorf watches as the sun sets behind the mountains around Gerudo Desert, sucking in a deep breath as the cold air fills his lungs. It's time. The hero should be arriving soon. The Fierce Deity.
The supposed hero of Hyrule.
The man who took down Majora himself with that ridiculous sword of his. It really doesn't need to be that big, in his opinion. Ganondorf’s sword at least makes sense. But the Deity? It's the length of the man's body for Hylias sake!
Regardless, the man's reputation certainly makes him a living legend. His pale eyes sending fear into even the greatest opponents, glowing with the power of a god.
The power of a god.
A concept so simple, yet holds the very world still. The idea of one walking among the people is enough to break anyone if they linger on it for too long.
Ganondorf's ears perk up as he hears sand shifting under someone's feet, the metal on the person's clothing clinking with their footsteps.
The young man peers around the skull of the ancient beast he was waiting behind, his eyes landing on the legend himself. His stark white hair glowing in the moonlight as the desert breeze flows through the fabrics draped over his shoulder and down his chest and legs, a leather belt cinching them around his waist. The reds, greens and yellows of the shaw contrasting the blacks and light blues of his under clothes. His great sword resting on his back.
The Deities painted face scans the horizon, the moonlight glinting off the gold jewelry around his neck and adoring his ears. The faint whispering of the purple mask attached to his hip, the only sound Ganondorf could hear.
Ganondorf sets his hand on the hilt of his semetar, steeling his nerves before stepping from behind the skull, staring up at the man.
“Kijin no Kamen. I am Ganondorf, crown Prince of the Gerudo, rightful heir to the throne of Hyrule. First man born of my people in a milenia. I am here for your soul.” He says, drawing his sword, the blade flashing in the moon as the man turns his head slightly, his back still turned to the warrior.
Ganondorf sets his jaw as he sinks his stance, anticipating the man to grab his sword, to turn to the prince, to do anything.
Nothing came.
The Warrior grows before launching himself forward, swinging his sword to the man in front of him, his eyes widening as The Deity spins, avoiding the blade, keeping his back turned to the prince.
How…
The prince slides to a stop, kicking up a sand cloud, before running forward, pulling his second sword from his back, swinging both in an X pattern, the man easily dodging each, ducking, side stepping, spinning. All while avoiding eye contact with the young man.
Ganondorf pauses as he catches his breath, despite the freezing desert air, a sheen of sweat covers his body, red flooding his vision as he shouts, running to the man again.
“Fight me you coward!” He yells, swiping once more, only for The Deity to squat down again, stepping to the left in a low crouch, setting all his weight on his left leg, shooting his right foot up, landing a kick into the side of the prince, knocking him down with a sharp pain in his side and a snap.
The man holds that pose for a second before bringing his knee close as he straightens up, setting his foot softly in the sand, his eyes downcast as the Prince gasps in pain, his hand gripping the side of his clothing.
“You know not of the power you demand. Go home.” He says curtly before looking up to the horizon, continuing his walk as if nothing happened.
“No! I will find you! I will get what I deserve!” Ganondorf shouts as the man vanishes in a cloud of sand.
“ I'll hunt you down if it's the last thing I do. ”
99 BC
Ganondorf kept to his promise, hunting the god all over Hyrule, getting stronger each time. Not that it ever affected the man, who always seemed on guard. Still yet to draw his sword on the now King, nor lay eyes on him.
An act so offensive to Ganondorf, he could barely fathom it. He knows of the gods power, knows of his skill and might, to be considered such a pest that the Deity won't even fight him properly? Simply avoiding his swings and punches, no matter the weapon used.
Ganondorf was getting antsy, sitting on the hilltop, bow at the ready. His long hair blowing softly in the wind as he watches the path below.
He tracked him everywhere, and every year he always took the same route. Farron being his destination for the week, such a miserable part of Hyrule, the constant thunderstorms and rain being something the man will never get used to.
He growls as he feels a drop of water land on his shoulder.
“Come on…” he mumbles before the faint sound of footfalls cause Ganondorf to look to his right, seeing the man making his way down the path, a lantern hanging by his belt next to the mask.
“There you are..” he whispers, setting himself and drawing the string back, aiming his bow at the man before losing the arrow, watching it fly only for the man to turn, the blade of the arrow cutting into his tunics slightly.
Ganondorf sets his jaw before setting the bow aside and jumping down, landing in front of the man.
“I've been expecting you, Kijin. Long time.” He says, standing up straight, the man's eyes still downcast.
“I have come for whats mine.” Ganondorf says, sliding his left foot back as he sets his hand on his katana's hilt.
“And this time, I'm not leaving without it. ” He grows before pausing, the Deity looking up at him. Their eyes lock as the man searches Ganondorfs face.
“Who are you?”
The question stuns the King as he straightens up again, raising an eyebrow at the man in front of him.
“Pardon?”
The Deity remains quiet as Ganondorf takes in what was just asked to him.
He really doesn't remember you? You've been hunting him for 20 years!
“How-im sorry, you really don't know who I am?”
He stares blankly as Ganondorf gaufs, throwing his hands up in disbelief.
“You've got to be kidding… I've hunted you for 20 years and you honestly don't even remember me?”
Still remains silent, his eyebrow slowly raising in question.
“I- you are serious. By Hylia you honestly don't remember…”
Ganondorf couldn't believe it, this man has been his every thought, every day for twenty years of his life. He became a master at every weapon imaginable, simply to fight the man before him, only to be forgotten.
No, not even forgotten, not worth the space to remember. Who does he think he is?! Ganondorf is a King. The first King of his people in a millenia, the first born Guedo male in even longer. And this person doesn't even remember.
Ganondorf snaps out of his disbelief to see the spot in front of him empty, the man having walked past to continue his journey. Ganondorf's jaw drops at the audacity behind the action before setting his jaw, pulling his sword out and swinging down at the man.
To no surprise, he spins around, holding his arm up, causing his forearm to take the blade as he glares at the man through his bangs, twisting around and grabbing Ganondorf's throat, slamming him down onto the ground, cracking the earth under them.
An unholy rage burning behind the Deities eyes, his normally emotionless face twisted into pure rage.
“You know not the power in which you demand.”
“I do, it is my birth-” he starts before feeling a blade on his neck, the Deity having drawn his great sword and pressing the sharp edge against Ganondorf's flesh.
“No. No man can have the power of the gods. Let alone you .” He growls, cutting into Ganondorf's neck a bit, causing some blood to slip down the blade and into the soil.
“Track me again, and I will not spare you.”
The man steps off the King, setting his sword back into place before turning and continuing his walk, leaving Ganondorf on the ground once again.
No. Not this time .
The man jump up and grabs his sword from the ground, glaring at the god in front of him.
“I will not be dismissed. Let alone by you .” He spits, causing the man to stop as Ganondorf walks to him, his knuckles turning white from his grip on his hilt.
“I will take what is mine and stake your broken body at the gates for the world to see.”
Thunder crashes as a storm rolls in, rain starting to fall as the Deity rolls his neck, reaching up for his sword and grabbing the hilt himself.
“Then you have chosen Death.”
He pulls his great sword out and spins, swinging the blade along with him as Ganondorf braces himself, holding his sword to take the hit, causing the blades to clash as another strike of lighting lights the sky, welcoming the heavy torrent of rain that follows.
Lunges and blocks were exchanged between the two, Ganondorf nearly slipping in some mud as he dodges a thrust from the other man. For as large as his blade is, somehow he is able to move it with such ease, like the weight and size barely affects him, if at all.
The Deity moves with such ease, it was almost like a dance. The rain and terrain hardly hindering him, despite the rain having plastered his hair over his eyes.
For once, Ganondorf felt alive in a fight. Like he had found his match, a fighter who rivals his own skills as neither make any headway on the other, both clothes getting caked in mud too fast for the rain to clear.
This is exhilarating.
Ganondorf smirks as he lunges one last time, the Deity twisting his blade so that Ganondorf's slide between the curves, he twists his great sword again, locking the King's blade in place, the two breathing each other's air at the closeness of each other.
The god twists his sword more, causing Ganondorf to loose grip on his blade and sending it flying into a tree. He watched it before turning back to the man, only to be greeted with a square kick to the center of his chest, sending him tumbling back again, only stopping when he hits the side of a hill, gasping for air.
He looks up as the man stalks towards him, dragging his blade through the mud as lightning illuminates him.
“You dare attack me? The one who took down Majora? The one who stopped the very moon .” He growls, stopping in front of the King, swinging his sword around and resting it on Ganondorf's shoulder, his head tipped up as he glares at the man.
“You dare think you're worthy.”
He scoffs before swinging his sword back up, only to set it against his back once again.
“Go home, King. Rule your people. You have no right to anything else.”
Ganondorf closes his eyes in defeat at the man walks away, yet again, his light fading into the night.
298 BC
Many years had passed since the two saw each other, the Deity seemingly vanished after that night in Farron. All while Ganondorf became stronger, smarter, more cunning.
More blood thirsty.
The Gerudo never experienced such peace, all while the world around them was flooded in chaos from the monsters Ganondorf unleashed. It was a time of Darkness and Blood.
It was the time of the Demon King and his Malice.
People hid in their houses when Ganondorf and his horse rode through the valley, leaving his gloom wherever he sees fit. His eyes had split long ago when he gained the ability to create the hands and separate his soul into warriors to fight whoever was brave enough to take the gloom on, if they managed the first, they hardly survived the second phase.
“My King” a soldier says, running into the throne room before falling to her knee, bowing her head. “The Deity has been spotted by your men, in the Hebra mountains. He made camp by the hot springs.”
Ganondorf sits up straight as he looks down at the young woman, slowly standing up and walking to her, resting his hand on her head.
“Thank you, child. I will return in a months time.” He says simply, making his way out of the throne room and down the steps, this time his goal was different.
He had no intention of killing the god, simply to use him for some entertainment really. He hasn't had a worthy fight since that night, nor had he felt such… feelings, like he did when the man stood over him. It had been almost 200 years and Ganondorf still thinks of that night. Of dominating the Deity in the best ways, or to be dominated… he hadn't made his mind up on that yet.
It wasn't like he didn't try to take his mind off it. Off of him , but every night when he falls asleep his dreams are plagued with the man, how fluid he moved, how his lythe frame moved around Ganondorf's larger silhouette. Those eyes … holding so much wisdom with a hundred lifetimes, if not thousands.
His voice like velvet, the King couldn't help but wonder what it sounded like…
Stop .
Ganondorf scrowled as he raises his arm, his sleeve covering his arousal as he walks to his horse, it's red eyes glowing in the setting sun as he grabs the reins.
“Old friend… one more journey.”
_____
Ganondorf pulls his horse to stop as his eyes land on the small camp, the fire dancing violently as the wind blows through it.
He dismounts and ties his Horse off as he makes his way down, scanning the area for the man he was looking for. The heat of his body melting the snow as he walks forward.
The King pauses as he spots the Deity sitting in the hot springs, pouring some of the water over his head with a bowl, causing his long hair to fall smoothly around his shoulders and spine.
Ganondorf sucks his teeth as that feeling returns to his stomach, stepping closer to the man, spotting his clothes folded neatly on a rock nearby.
“I can feel you, lurking in the shadows.” He says, turning his head slightly to where Ganondorf stood.
“Your glow doesn't help.”
“Just a little something I picked up.”
“And how many died, for you to just… pick up .”
“Really? The great deity lecturing me over bloodshed? Legend has it you bathed in it before time itself.”
“That was a different time.”
“Ah yes, the time of God's and dragons.” Ganondorf says, walking over, sliding his fingers over the carved mask, his fingernails catching one of the horns end.
“The time of Majora.”
The Deity stands suddenly, glaring up at the King as rage burns behind his eyes again.
“Do not speak of what you do not know, Demon.”
“And if I so wish to?” Ganondorf says slyly, stepping forward so he stands before the man, taking in the sight in front of him.
“Then you wish for damnation in a mask that will not be worn.”
Ganondorf chuckles as he reaches forward, grabbing the side of the Deity's neck and face, jerking him closer as the man grabs his sleeve, his fingertips digging into the fabric and the muscles of Ganondorf's forearm.
“I would love to see you try.”
The two glare at each other, a smile growing on Ganondorf's face, flashing his teeth as he runs his tongue over them slowly.
“I am the Demon King. You cannot do anything to me. Kijin .”
Ganondorf heard the man suck in a deep breath at the mention of his name, his smile growing wider.
“When was the last time you heard that? When we fought? I doubt anyone knows your name, much less speaks it to you.” Ganondorf mutters, examining the man's face.
The Deity remains silent before shoving Ganondorf's hand off and trudging out of the spring, grabbing his clothes and throwing the mask into his tent, shoving his clothes on over his still wet body.
“Tell me, when was the last time someone worshiped you?” Ganondorf asks, stepping over to the man, causing him to pause, his arms just in his shirts sleeves.
“I mean you are a Deity after all. A god, surely there were temples in your honor? Priests? Anything?”
The man remains silent as Ganondorf stops behind him, reaching around and dragging his fingertips down the man's toned stomach, noticing the goose skin appearing on his back.
“When was the last time… you were pleasured? ”
The god pushes away again, his eyes wide at the King in front of him, clearly taken back by the question just presented to him.
“Come now, is that so unreasonable to ask?”
“Leave.” He growls, pulling his shirt on the rest of the way before turning to enter his tent.
“That long? I can't imagine it's been easy-”
Ganondorf is cut off by a sharp sting in his chest as the Deity swings his sword, barely cutting into the man's torso as he glares up at him.
“ Leave. ” he says, his voice shaking slightly as Ganondorf steps back, holding his hands up.
“I apologize, offending you was not my intention.”
“I said,” Fierce starts, both hands wrapping around the grip, raising his sword by his head as he sets one foot back to launch himself straight into the man in front of him, “ Leave. Before I gut you like a fish.”
Ganondorf smirks at the threat, stepping back again as he bows his head to the man.
“Very well, Kijin…” he says, keeping his head down as he continues to back away, raising his eyes to meet the gods, who was slowly moving back up.
“It was a pleasure, as always. Until we meet again.” With that, the Demons king vanished in a cloud of Malice, for once, leaving the Deity alone and defeated.
800 BC
Five hundred years.
It's been five hundred years since the two last saw each other, the reign of the Demon King still as strong as the day it began. Even some of the ancient Sheika decided to join in under the oath of a blood moon, renaming themselves “the Yiga Clan” bringing the knowledge and abilities of their ancestors.
They were his new eyes and ears where his hands could not reach. In towns, stables, all over Hyrule they hid, watching and waiting. Sending news to Ganondorf whenever they caught sight of the white haired god, however some were brought back fatally wounded, having felt the wrath of the mans blade.
So Ganondorf sat, waiting on a hilltop in Akkala, watching the nation through the eyes of his hands, gloom dust circling him in a dance far off from the wind blowing around him.
“It has been awhile…”
“So it has. I've been called to stop you.” The Deity says, having stopped behind the King who laughs at the statement.
“By who ? Hylia has fallen silent to the cries of her followers, surely she didn't go to you.”
“I do not answer to Hylia, the Golden Goddess commands my blade.”
Ganondorf opens his eyes as he stands up, turning to the man, determination etched in every crevice of his aging face.
“The Golden Goddess abandoned Hyrule and her people long ago.”
“She has returned, Demon King.” Deity says, drawing his sword slowly, their eyes not leaving the other.
“She declares your reign shall end. Be it by my blade or anothers. It shall be done.”
Ganondorf sighs as he looks to the ground, shaking his head in sorrow. “I do not wish to fight you, Kijin.”
“And you think I do? I do what I must.”
“So you would kill me? Kijin-”
His words are cut short as the Deity swings his sword towards the man, causing him to jump back and draw his own sword, his eyes widen in disbelief before narrowing in determination and anger.
“Very well… as the gods demand it.”
With a shout he slams his blade into the ground, his gloom shooting from under him in every direction, consuming grass and trees in its darkness, forcing The Deity to jump back in an attempt to avoid being touched.
In his moment of distraction, the man looks up, only to be face to face with Ganondorf, his eyes blood red as he swings his free arm, slamming his forearm into the Deity's chest, sending him flying backwards, the impact shattering trees before he comes to a stop against a mountain, gasping at the impact.
The fierce deity looks up at the man through his hair, grinding his teeth as his grip on his great sword tightens, he runs forward and slips into a slide as Ganondorf swings his blade, slamming his blue blade into the ground as he uses his momentum to spin and land a knee right against the back of Ganondorf's neck, causing the man to fall to his knees with a shout.
“I don't want to do this!” He shouts, tears pricking his eyes as The King glares over his shoulder, the gloom whisps swirling faster as rage twists the man's face.
“Then you will die like a dog.” Demise growls, turning his weapon into a spear, shooting the blade straight for the Deity, cutting into his side.
He screams in pain as his hand quickly grabs the wound, his clothes quickly becoming soaked with blood. A different pain spreading from the wound, causing the man's hands to shake slightly.
“Gloom affects In many different ways.” Demise sneers, standing up as the Deity stumbles, using his sword to balance himself as his legs start giving out.
“You know… for you being over a thousand years old… I thought this fight would last longer.” He says before shrugging, his spear turning back into a sword as he raises it high above his head “oh well…”
A wide smiles takes over his face as he swings the blade down, for it to land into the Deity's forearm, cutting deep into the skin. The man looking up as rage flushes his face, his eyes glowing bright white.
He shoves his arm forward, pushing Demise backwards as the Deity pushes all his weight into the blade.
“I am the Fierce Deity, killer of Majora, slayer of God's. I am Kijin no Kamen. I have bathed in the blood of my enemies, you are but a pest under my boot. ” He growls throwing his sword into the air before rearing his free hand back, punching Ganondorf square in the jaw, sending the man flying, ripping the blade from the Deity's arm, he holds his hand out and catches the hilt of his sword. Glaring down at the man.
“Now… Die.” he says, lifting his sword high above his head before gasping, looking down at the blade through his torso, the image of Ganondorf fading away in the wind as the real man sets his hand on the Deity's shoulder, leaning over to whisper in his ear.
“No… I don't think I will.” He says before pulling his sword out, shoving the Deity down, the man gasping for air as he clutches the grass, slowly twisting around into his back as he looks up at Ganondorf, tears falling from his eyes.
“I-I-” he gasps, coughing up blood before dropping his head down into the grass, gripping his clothes tightly.
“They'll stop you… even if my blade isn't the one to do it… they'll stop you…” he gasps as Ganondorf knees down, gently picking the Deities head up and holding him close.
“I know, I just did not want it to be you…” he whispers, gently wiping the blood from his chin.
“Please don't leave me alone…” he begs, grabbing Ganondorf's robes tightly as the man nods, wiping the tears falling from his eyes.
“I will find you again. I swear on my life.” Ganondorf says, resting his forehead against the Deity's, feeling his hand slowly slip from Ganondorf's cloak, landing in the grass.
“ I will find you again… my love…”
